For me to say no makes no sense i like the couple because of the CHARACTERS not because of the actors who play them.

depends on how well sophia played the part. If I BELIEVED her when she played peyton, then probably yeah. I couldn't guarantee I'd like leyton/peyton as much cause i'm not sure how sophia would do the character justice. but objectively speaking, it's the story of leyton, and the enduring love over the seasons that's attracted me to the couple. So if Chophia delivered that same chemistry/intensity, who knows? The thing is, Sophia doesn't have those eyes hil has. that pain in hil's big green eyes always gets me. there are things about peyton (scrawny, tangled mess of hair, grimaces) that only hilarie has...it's a hard one...

i think it completely depends. we are all so used to sophia as brooke and peyton as hilarie that it's really hard to imagine sophia brooding and being into art and music and stuff.
but if their characters had always been switched, then we would see no problem with it, and many people would still love their couple because of the characters and storylines, just like we do now.
it is a hard one i agree, but i guess we'll never know...:)

It's a hard question to answer. Because, we all have grown acustom to hilarie's face and we just match her with Peyton. If someone else were to play her:
A. They couldn't play her as well as Hilarie, because there is a REASON they hired her to play that part.
B. I could not picture her playing anyone else, then oth just wouldn't feel that real.
So, basically I'm saying I can't really answer that. Because I just know Hilarie as Peyton.

Of course! I don´t love leyton because of Hilarie (though she´s the sweetest person), I love them because of PEYTON and Lucas.

Just like Hilarie, Sophia Bush is a great actress and I´m sure she would be able to portray Peyton´s personality not the same way as Hilarie does, but in a way that we would enjoy as well.
Again, it´s not much about faces, it´s about the story of the couples and that´s not in Sophias´ or Hilarie´s hands, but in Mark´s.

i dont know really!!i agree with abs07 that Hilarie has a specific look that makes her special..and i mean her eyes!!she delivers perfect the roles when she cries and when she makes confessions to Luke!!i just love the way she acts she won me completely from season 1 so i dont think that Sophia would be so good for Peyton's role

It's different,,I think that Peyton is written just for Hilarie! It would be SOOOO different but I love the story of the couple..I love how Leyton is so meant to be..and yeah..Leyton always!

although i love hilarie as peyton and the way she plays her && i couldnt imagine brooke as peyton but you get the picture - i love the leyton story! the from the beginning, meant to be vibe you get with them!

If Sophia Bush would have started out as Peyton, and you like Peyton as Hilarie Burton playin her. I'm sure you would still like Leyton.

I think I'd like Brucas then. It's Chad and Hilarie that give Leyton their chemistry.

I fell in love with Leyton's story. In the first episodes I didn't know who Hilarie Burton or Bethany Joy were, but I knew Sophia but that didn't count anything. Sure Hilarie portrayed Peyton fantastically and without her I wouldn't have loved Peyton so much but I ship the couple for their story and their interactions and the characters NOT the actors. Sophia is very talented
