once upon a time Didn't anda think it was hypocritical of Eva to lecture Snow about equality while she was wearing all those diamonds?

She talked about being royal didn't made you more than being a peasant, but the way the royal dress and live says otherwise.

I think that the point Eva was teaching Snow was being kind to all people. Snow shouldn't have yell at Johanna, because all people equally deserve respect. It was all about attitude toward people. Isn't it abovious, that royal jewelery is a part of being queen. It's kind of a symbol. You could also say that the simple fact that Johanna was Snow's/Eva's maid was wrong, becasue people are equal & one shouldn't serve another. But yes - it's obvious & natural that queen wears jewelery & has servants. She's just not allowed to use her position in any way to hurt people & make their life hard.

What a stupid and ridiculous question. She can't help that she's royal and she's allowed to dress however she likes. Besides it doesn't matter how she dresses, she can believe in equality and think of her servants as friends.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, especially since the options can be argued. More so since more people have selected the opposing option to yours. I'm sorry for the lecture but it really bothers me when people call a question stupid, I've had a question of mine be called stupid, it makes a person feel pretty bad.

I think it was a tad hypocritical, but more so because she had previously tripped Cora and made her bow and apologize to her because she was just a miller's daughter.

^I've thought about that too, I supposse they will explain it later, like she was learned she was wrong, like Snow did, or she matured by herself. By the way, thanks for defending the question.

When I say she was being hyppocritical, I don't think she didn't believe in equality, I think she didn't realize she just wasn't living to what she was proclaming.

And if the lesson was being kind to all, why talk about equality? They're different things. Not incompatible, just not the same thing.

I totally agree with PPPopopipop! :) But about the servant thing..I also agree with that but they must get paid to do what they do and they must be able to quit, I mean it's not like she's holding them captive, they're not slaves. And someone has to be queen and lead the kingdom. :)

Those calling Eva a hypocrite should better think of themselves instead. Because they're being the hypocrites.
Do you have earrings? Or a ring? Do you have a TV? A mobile phone? Then why don't you give them to the poor? There are people dying of hunger. Why don't you give all your goods to the poor so that we can all be equal?

Queen Eva is a just and good person. Looking out for the welfare of her people. Compare her with the evil queen and how she treated the people.

That's not hypocricy. And my family does donate our clothing and a boat load of toys that we never use and some canned goods to places like Good Will. Even so we're not being hyporcitical because none of us (I would hope) have ever tripped a person, made them apologize to us, and then stated that they are where they belong; on the ground.

How was making a not yet evil Cora bow and apologize for something she didn't do being a good person? She lost a poor woman her weeks pay.

Don't get me wrong Eva became a better person. But from the way she treated people in her youth...

the talk was about mature Eva, not young Eva. People can change. I think you agree with that.

And yes: it is hypocritical to accuse Eva of wearing a queen-suited dress. Because this is what the pick is about: mature queen Eva being dressed as a queen. You donate clothes that you no longer wear. But still, the new clothes, the most beautiful ones you use them yourself. I'm sure Eva gave a lot to her servant (proved by how much that servant cared for her).

I can agree to that.

Young Eva was hypocritical. Mature Eva not so much. Actually I donate cloths that don't fit, o actually really liked a good number of them, but since they didn't fit why not let someone else wear them?

You can be rich and believe people shouldn't be treated like dirt. You can be poor and believe people shouldn't be treated like dirt.

Eva is queen here. She's a powerful lady, and is meant to be a visual representation of leadership. She can't exactly walk around in sweats and a wife-beater (so to speak).
