It's pretty much cannon. But the relationship they have is not sexual at all. It's only platonic in this case. (Meaning that it's very intimate but never sexual) Now they DID ciuman in both the novel and anime. Where I live that's considered 'gay', but to me it's lebih of a close friendship kind of kiss. No.6 is a mild Shonen-ai. Not really gay but not exactly straight.
It is quite obvious in the komik jepang and the anime that they are cannon, but in a tasteful manner. Their cinta is lebih than skin deep, and their relationship has been tested mutlitple times, only to be proven that it's for real. Although some peole like to claim they're "just close friends" atau that they have a "brotherly" relationship, I find that hard to believe. I know many guys who have close friends, but never ever would they ciuman them, especially on the lips, even to prove a point. Some peole just don't want to label No. 6 as a yaoi atau shounen ai, becasue they are either against such things themselves, atau they don't want to put a "taboo" label on it. Yes and no, Nezumi watches over Shion closely in a very brotherly manner, and it is lebih like a brotherly cinta for each other, but also like a strong Friendship.
Well I don't think "Gay" is the proper word for it, since they r both men and inlove, then yes they r gay, but their Relationship doesn't really look like the whole "Gay" hype thing, it's not like they r only interested in men, talk funny and act exentric, they really just fell in cinta with each other and just didn't care about the genders.
So yes, the only word we have for it curently is the word "Gay", but the Relationship was, in my eyes, something abit different....

you’re literally brain dead. what does being gay have to do with “talking funny” atau akting eccentric? there are multiple gay people in the world that aren’t flamboyant acting. you’re weird for making a definite correlation between the two.
Of course! Best friends don't give each other goodbye kisses! I'm so happy to see queer characters who's perpous isn't to simply be queer. I wouldn't consider it a yaoi though, since it's technically not a romance anime. Though I do believe they are canon.
They are. I cinta that it's not just a simple crush atau attraction, that's why a lot of people are confused. Their cinta is lebih than skin-deep, it's lebih than in a 'I want your body' but in a deeper sort of way that doesn't even need the 'I cinta you' atau 'I want to make out with you' (though they did kiss). That's why I really cinta this couple, that they don't need to clarify their love, it's there already. And if anda REALLY need proof besides the kisses they gave each other (though I don't really see the point) they dance. And after Shion kissed him, Shion said: That wasn't a ciuman of gratitude, that was a good night kiss. Shion went outside, and Nezumi had thought: A good night kiss, huh? You're such a liar. I literally squealed when he berkata that. So if anda don't realize what that meant, I'm so sorry, please go see a therapist. You're so dense.
