If he had a twin brother he'd lose some of his individuality, for he would always subconsciously be seen as 'one of the brothers', and if he did he would'n be so lonely and then he wouldn't make such a great hero. He just had to start with loneliness to be what he is.

He would lose some of his character because it showed that he was really lonely and wouldn't be accepted in society. If he had a twin brother, then he wouldn't be who he is now.
