Why Faraday?

I suppose his mother named him Faraday as his last name,telling him that,"Faraday",was his lost father name.I think that the producers named him liked that coz of Daniel Faraday was a time traveler in the episode FINAL APPEAL (THE OUTER LIMITS). The episode also features a time traveler named Theresa and features Swoosie Kurtz who plays Locke's mother.Also I think that Eloise named him like that...The name "Faraday" did not come from his mother, Ms. Hawking, atau his father, Mr. Widmore. However, Ms. Hawking named her son after the person she shot in the jungle; she would have presumably checked his wallet and ID after he died. Thus, Daniel Faraday was the first person to be named after himself.

I believe the writers named him after Michael Faraday, the famous physicist. Story-wise though, I have no idea how he got that last name. Maybe Eloise married/re-married someone named Faraday who Daniel believed was his father.

I don't actually know where does his name come from. But I think that his name has a special meaning. There was a famous physicist named Michael Faraday. He was a founder of the electromagnetism study. I think his name is just another parallel referring to Daniel's character. anda know like John Locke(a philosopher).

The characters' surnames always seem to correalate with scientists who have actually worked on the relevant theories. Eloise (STEPHEN) Hawking, and as for Faraday, Michael Faraday was a physicist who worked on electromagentics and came up with a Faraday coil I beleive....my point being I think there are lebih than just semantics invhloved in Daniel's surname. His mom is Eloise (who is the name of his time travelling mouse when Desmond sees him at his lab). So Widmore is his father, i will find out who he is and get back to you. Daniel is a FARADAY is lebih than a name it is a clue.

Hello, never replied to anything on this website but Daniel Faraday is special. So answer;
They used that last name based on "Faraday's Law". Which specifically revolves around Electromagnetic induction. Which is what he's doing on the island. I think its perfect. And his character is my favorit fictional character. He was always the hero, and was brave even with a gun in his face.
