Chapter 1: I knew that I found a halaman awal for my heart

"You want to go on a double date?" Rachel Leslie was staring at her friend, Celine Portman, in shock. They had been good friends for years now. They'd met in high school and kept in touch ever since. They were now 24 years old. And they both had been in serious relationships for a while now.
Celine had met Paul freshmen tahun in college, and they had been together ever since. Rachel couldn't quite cope with the idea of a couple being together for five years without an engagement atau a wedding. They were living together, though.
Rachel had met Richard the same tahun as Celine had met Paul, but unlike with the other couple, it had taken about six months for Rachel and Richard to confess their feelings for each other. Rachel knew it had been her fault. Her and her inability to express emotions around people she cared about. But she did care about Richard. She loved him. Just as much as Celine loved Paul. They were living together as well, but for her own situation Rachel wasn't in such a rush. She had just expected a marriage sooner for Celine, the hopeless romantic.
And apparently a few days yang lalu Richard and Paul had finally met properly at Paul's brother's birthday party. They'd gotten to talking, watched a game together and now they were good friends already. And as soon as Paul had told Celine about this, of course she wanted to go on a double date.
"Yes, of course!" Celine smirked. "Think about it, it'd be fun! We could go catch a movie, get something to eat, go bowling-"
"In what universe am I going bowling?" Rachel snorted. They were sitting at Starbucks. Rachel had actually ran over, because on the phone Celine had berkata she had something very important to discuss with her, which had now turned out to be this.
"Why don't anda want to go on a double date?" Celine's face fell. "You are still with Richard, aren't you?"
"Of course I am", Rachel said. "I cinta him."
Celine smiled at this. "And I cinta Paul. And I cinta you, in a very different way. Come on, it'd be fun!"
"I don't know if Richard even wants to go", Rachel pointed out.
"There is no other way to find out but to ask him, now is there?"
"I don't know", Rachel made a face. "Paul wants to go?"
"Yeah, totally, we talked about it", Celine lied. She hadn't even suggested it yet but she couldn't think of any reason why he'd say no.
Rachel took a moment to think about it before saying: "Alright. I'll ask him. And if he says yes, then fine. What do anda want to do?"
Celine smiled in triumph. "I actually have something in mind, but it's a surprise."

"So how do anda feel about going on a double tanggal with Rachel and Richard?" Celine asked as she got halaman awal to Paul, who was sitting on the couch, membaca a book. Paul looked up as Celine sat selanjutnya to him and he smiled, leaning to ciuman her. "I don't know. When?"
"I don't know, they haven't exactly berkata yes yet", Celine groaned. "But it would be fun, wouldn't it? anda berkata anda like Richard."
"Yeah, I like Richard, they just don't seem like a couple who does double dates", Paul smiled in amusement.
Celine chuckled. "Well, they're probably not, but we're going on that double tanggal anyway."
"Okay", Paul had never been good at refusing Celine anything, and he loved seeing her so excited about something.
Just then Celine's cellphone rang, and as she picked up, she heard Rachel's voice:
"We're not going to a chick flick."
"So he berkata yes", Celine smirked.



"Yes, and I hate him for it", Rachel said, glaring at Richard, who was sitting on the tempat tidur with a smirk on his face.
"You don't hate me", he whispered, and Rachel had to turn away to focus on Celine. "Yeah, so anyway, what do anda want to do?"
"Let's go play paintball!" Celine said.
"What?" Rachel's eyebrows rose in surprise. "You want to go play paintball?"
"Why not?"
"I don't know", she turned to look at Richard. "Do anda want to go play paintball?"
Richard nodded. "Yeah!"
Rachel turned her attention back to Celine. "Okay, we'll go. When?"
"Tomorrow night?" Celine asked, looking at Paul, who nodded.
"Sure", Rachel said. "We'll come over your place at 7", with that she hung up and walked over to Richard. "Paintball. That's not so bad."
"No, I think you'll even find yourself enjoying it", Richard smiled as he pulled her closer.
"Yeah, maybe", Rachel berkata before leaning forwards and ciuman him.
"They'll come oleh around 7 tomorrow", Celine berkata as she leaned closer to Paul on the couch, burying her head in his chest.
"What made anda think of paintball?" Paul asked in curiosity.
"Rach is not a fan of romance, so I thought we'd do something cool instead. And of course we're going to makan malam afterwards."
"Nice", Paul smirked before ciuman the puncak, atas of Celine's head. "I cinta you."
Celine decided she'd never get tired of hearing that. "I cinta you, too", she smiled before closing her eyes.



Rachel and Richard were late. Finally at 7:15 their car stopped in front of the apartment building in which their friends lived, and they rushed up the stairs and rang the door bell.
"You're late", Celine berkata as she opened the door.
"There was traffic", Rachel couldn't help but to smile, so it became clear to Celine that traffic was certainly not the reason for their delay.
"Uh-huh. Paul, get out here, we're leaving! Nice to see anda again, Richard."
"You, too", Richard smiled politely.
Paul walked out of the apartment and greeted the couple with a smile. "Hey, Rachel, Richard. Good to see anda again!"
"Can we go? I booked the court for us for 7:30", Celine rushed them.
"Wait, anda booked the whole court?" Rachel asked as they ran down the stairs towards the car.
"Of course!"

And indeed, when they arrived at the rumput field composed of obstacles and hiding places, there was no one else there.
"Gear up", Celine berkata as she opened the bag she'd been carrying, in which were the proper masks and other equipments - including the actual guns and ammo.
"I thought we could rent stuff here", Rachel berkata as she picked a gun.
"Yeah, but it's all gross if it's used."
"This is not your first time playing paintball, is it?" Richard asked as he helped Rachel put on the mask.
"No, and it won't be the last", Celine smirked. "So how do anda wanna team up?"
"I thought it'd just be me and Richard and anda guys", Rachel shrugged.
"No, that's no fun. Boys vs girls, come on", Celine said. "Don't anda wanna kick their asses?"
Richard gave Rachel a look of I-dare-you, which made her smile. "Yeah, yeah, I do. Let's do it."



"You know I'm just gonna let anda win", Paul smiled as he leaned forwards and kissed Celine.
"No. If I'm kind, I won't completely destroy you", Celine smirked before ciuman him again. "Let's do this!"
Rachel and Celine rushed over to the south side of the court while the boys took the north side.
"So what were the rules again? I haven't played in years", Rachel said.
"Whoever hits who first wins", Celine said. "You ready?"
"Yes", Rachel berkata before raising her voice. "You guys ready?"
"Not just yet", they heard Richard shout back, but Rachel chuckled.
"Let's give them ten seconds."
Celine nodded.
"10, 9, 8..", Rachel loaded her gun as Celine did the same. Rachel regretted being so skeptical about the game, it was already fun and they hadn't even started. "One", Celine skipped ahead and stood up, She rushed over to the north side of the court, and Rachel could barely keep up at her at first. They looked around, and the guys were nowhere to be seen.
They dodged them just in time as the boys rushed out from behind a shelter. The girls ran back to their side, careful not to get hit.
"I think they're trying to impress us with their capability to shoot girls", Celine berkata in sarcasm. In truth she did think Paul looked pretty hot in his costume, and Rachel thought the same about Richard.
"Well, we're not going to let them, are we?" Rachel smirked. Celine shook her head, and off they went again.
And indeed, the guys might have looked utterly gorgeous, but they also lost. Both the girls got shots on their guys before they could even lift their guns.
"Okay, anda win", Richard smiled as Rachel walked over to him. "I think there's some paint in my hair."
Rachel looked. There wasn't, but she still smirked. "I'll help anda wash it out when we get home."
"It's a deal", Richard nodded before leaning forwards and ciuman her.
"You did good", Celine berkata as she walked over to Paul. "I mean, for the losing team."
"Don't get too cocky", Paul smirked. "I almost had anda that one time. Though it's not very fair."
"What isn't?" Celine asked. "Us being better than you? Well-"
"No", Paul smiled, pressing his forehead against Celine's. "You being too beautiful for me to focus on the actual game."
At this Celine's jantung melted, and she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend and held him tight. "You were pretty distracting, too."

"I'm going to ask her to marry me", Paul said. He and Richard had just gotten all the gear off, and they were waiting for the girls, who were in the bathroom.
"Really?" Richard's eyebrows rose. "That's great! When do anda think you'll do it?"
"I don't know", Paul sighed. "I've been meaning to do it for ages, it just never comes out. I don't want to lose her."
"I hardly think anda will lose her", Richard promised. "You two are good together, and she seems to really cinta you."
"Thanks", Paul smiled. They sat on the ground for a while before Richard spoke again:
"No, really, though, when are anda going to ask? Because..."
"Because what?" Paul asked in confusion.
"Well, I was going to ask Rachel, and I don't want it to be when anda ask Celine, because that just seems like we'd be stealing your thunder and-"
"You're going to ask Rachel to marry you?" Paul chuckled. "Wow, there's a risk."



"No", Richard berkata after a moment of silence. "No, it's not a risk. We cinta each other."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like-"
"I know what anda meant, don't worry about it", Richard smiled. "She's just different with me."
Paul smiled back, and nodded. "Then congratulations, man."
"You, too", Richard nodded.
"I think I'll ask her tonight", Paul berkata after a moment of silence. "Maybe a week of waiting will be a sufficient time, don't anda think?"
"Yeah, a week", Richard smiled. "Thanks."

They went to eat pizza at a great Italian restaurant, and they had a great time. For a while the girls laughed about beating the boys, there was an awkward silence during which both the guys were thinking about their future proposals, And when they had dessert and a few drinks (except for Rachel, who berkata she could drive), they were bothering the rest of the restaurant with their constant laughing and joking. But they didn't care.
"Babe, are anda drunk?" Rachel asked as Richard leaned his head against Rachel's, closing his eyes.



"A bit tipsy. And tired", he yawned.
"Maybe we should go", Rachel berkata as she wrapped an arm around her boyfriend. "Before he falls asleep. He's heavier to carry than he looks."
"Yeah, good idea", Celine smiled. Paul helped her up from her kursi and the four of them headed towards the car, Celine and Paul in the back kursi with Rachel and Richard at the front.
"See? I told anda guys we'd have fun", Celine said, fighting back a yawn. She was exhausted, they all were.
"Yes, we did have fun", Rachel said. "Maybe we should do it again sometime."
Richard smiled, taking her free hand in his. "I like the idea. Guys, what do anda think?"
"That'd be great", Paul nodded. But he was too nervous about the proposal to actually think straight.
Rachel and Richard dropped the couple off before driving off to their own apartment. They walked the steps in silence before heading inside. Once inside, Paul thought about the right way to do it. Should he make an announcement, a speech? Should he make her something to eat (which was a ridiculous idea after all the food they'd just consumed), atau maybe put on some good music? But before he could think about it any further, he heard the sound of something dropping onto the floor. And then they both looked down, and the sound of Celine gasping made Paul's jantung beat faster. This was it. Because the object on the floor was the engagement ring.
"Paul, what is this?" Celine asked as she carefully lifted the ring from the floor.
"That is... well, Celine..", Paul tried to find the right words, but what was there to say? He would never be able to express the amount of cinta he had for her. "That's for you. If you'll have it."



Celine looked at him in confusion before sniffing. Was he serious? "You were going to ask me to marry you?"
"Yes. And that's what I'm still doing, very badly", Paul walked closer and took the ring from Celine's hand and put it on her finger. "Celine, I cinta you. There's no one else like you. You're kind, you're smart, you're beautiful inside and out, and anda know me. And anda make me so happy. There's nothing lebih in the world that I'd want than to marry you."
Celine smiled, looking at the man she loved with tears in her eyes. "Yeah?"
"Yeah", Paul smiled back. "Celine, will anda marry me?"
"Yes", Celine berkata before even giving it a detik thought. She loved Paul, and she wanted to marry him. She had wanted to marry him for a long time. "Yes, of course! I cinta you!" She jumped in his arms and kissed him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Paul was still recovering from the shock and the overload of happiness, but he still kissed her back, hardly believing that Celine had actually berkata yes. That the woman he loved would actually marry him. "I cinta you, too, so much", Paul berkata before ciuman her again.
