“Why aren’t anda looking into my eyes, Caroline?” Klaus asked as they slowly danced to the musik playing in the background. “Are anda afraid I might compel you?”
“No, that’s not it.” Caroline answered as she bit her lip, still looking at her own feet. Klaus looked curiously at her, waiting for a proper answer. “It’s just that I’m not really good at this dance. I don’t want to fall.”
Klaus laughed lightly at that pulling Caroline a little closer. “You’re a vampire, sweetheart. I highly doubt anda could fall because of a misstep. Besides, I’m leading you. anda just need to trust me.”
Caroline slowly looked up at him and after seeing his encouraging smile she relaxed. For some unexplainable reason she found herself doing exactly what he said. Trusting him.
