nathalie2281998 January 31,2011 Dear Mr. Patterson, Hello! My name is Natalie and I am a seventh grader. I attend Jabish Brook Middle School. I love your books! I’ve read many of them repeatedly! I love your Maximum Ride series the most. My favorite is Maximum Ride And The Angel Experiment! I liked the overall plot of the book. The fact that the flock would risk their lives for Angel is so sad yet so…. amazing! My favorite character is definitely Fang! I like Fang because he is dark, mysterious, quiet and secluded. When he does choose to say something it’s usually funny. Though he doesn’t say much, he cares for the flock and does everything in his will power to keep them safe. I can relate to Fang. Aside from the fact that I am quite the chatterbox, we don’t like to open up to anyone much. It’s almost like I understand what he’s feeling. It makes the story more intense. I like the fact that there is a lot of suspense in your books. I feel like at the end of every chapter there is a cliffhanger. It’s like I can never get enough of the story! I remember a while back, I was reading School’s Out…Forever, and read for two straight hours! I ended up finishing the book! I liked it so much that I asked for the ENTIIRE series for my birthday! The suspense was the best element in the story. If you hadn’t added that the reader would have known what was coming and it wouldn’t have been as much fun. I like how you used a real life crisis to be the main problem in your story. Global warming is a worldwide issue. To be one hundred percent honest with you however, if there had been a book titled “Global Warming,” I probably wouldn’t have picked it up. You added emotion, excitement, action, suspense, and adventure and created the best series I’ve ever read! I do love your books! May I ask where you came up with the idea of mutant bird kids who have to save the world and don’t have a clue on how to do it? I have my own style of writing. Everyone does. I’m writing a story now but need some help. my English teacher is the inspiration for my story. Is there anyone who inspired you? I want my story to be like yours.
