As long as there are horror movies, there will be strange noises emerging from dark places. This is a particularly mindless cliche, one which defies all sensible logic for the sake of racking up a body count. There isn't a circumstance in the world in which you'd convince a terrified teenager that exploring some bizarre clattering in the depths of a shadowy haunted house is in any way a worthwhile...
