I give it around a 2.5 star rating. Was it bad as a thought it would be? Kinda. The animation is worse then I thought it would be. It was actually painful to watch, it looks like it's from a video game. Fanarty flashart manga style video game. And very choppy animation. I mean, the characters don't even look like themselves anymore. Humor isn't as good as the old seasons. I didn't even laugh while I watched it, only smiled once. Characters seem to kinda act like themselves, but I do see a difference

I only smiled once, when Italy said 'Ninja!' and thought 'WTF?' when Japan said chopsticks could be used as a weapon. uh....nobody mess with Japan while he is eating, because....he can kill you. And I made myself giggle when the Italian's ran away from England, I was think 'The British are coming, the British are coming! Everyone run for you Pasta loving lives!' Oh now that would have been funny for them to say. XD

But, I did LOVE the ending theme. It was still the adorable catchy theme song they always have. And the allies looked cute, the chibis there actually looked good. They actually kinda looked like the old style there. First time I could actually see that. Did you see France and England holding each other's hand? FHSNJBLSJF. And I am supoer happy they used the old style Chibis in the ending theme.

But hey, maybe it'll get better. I'm to loyal to Hetalia to totally say it's ruined until Funimation dubs it. Funimation is a god of making horrible things good.

I liked it. It wasn't as bad as I thought and even though I miss the old animation the new animation is alright I guess. This episode wasn't a great first episode but I'm sure more episodes will get better.

It sucked.

I thought it was very cute. I like how they used the mochis for the scene switch and how the art style for the anime now matches the manga art style better. I thought it was a good first episode for a new season to be honest, even though there weren't any introductions or anything. I'm glad that they kept the episodes 5 minutes long. I thought that the animation was pretty nice and the chibis are adorable!! The ending theme still has that catchy tune feeling to it like in the other seasons, which is great!

Hm I give it a 3 star rating. I liked it and it was cute but, for a first episode it wasn't all that great. I'm sure things will be better in the future~ It was just the first episode after all. I have to say the animation is rather interesting and the scene transition with the mochi's felt like an animated picture of a colored manga. Not that I thought it was bad. It was just... interesting to me. After seeing this first episode, I feel even more indifferent about the style and animation. I'm not even sure what to say about it... It keeps worrying me the more I see it. I wonder if everything will be alright in the end and the new style and animation will work out... It's worrisome to see some people so angry and upset over the new style. I hope this won't lead to anything bad... I just hope everyone will end up being happy in the end.

I liked it.i still prefer the old anime style but, it still wasn't horrible though. I agree with what Pumpkinqueen said.

I really wish I could give it 5 out of 5 but pumpkinqueen's right about the animation, it looked sorta choppy. But Hetalia will be Hetalia no matter what, and I'll still love it. The chopsticks part was hilarious, along with the Germany picking dandelions scene.
The new song, Mawaru Chikyuu Rondo is extremely catchy, I absolutely love the ending song. It was also funny how in the credits Italy was breaking it down while Japan and Germany were awkwardly sidestepping. xD
All in all, the animation could be improved, but I do look forward to more. :)

It had funny staff in it! But I hope it gets dubbed soon! They talk so fast it was hard for me to catch up with the subs!

It was pretty funny. The animation brought it down... it's just not the same and it makes me sad to see how much they ruined it. I liked the ending though.

I thought it was really cute and funny and all but, I just think the art style really set it back for me. It's pretty but, it's just not very good for an anime. It looks more like some kind of video game.
It was just the first episode though, I'm sure it will turn out better in the future.
