I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Harry Styles and Niall Horan talk the dynamics of One Direction following Zayn's departure: 'We've very much grown stronger'
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
The best bits from 5SOS\'s new \'Hey Everybody!\'...
12 times that 5SOS on Celebrity Juice just got...
We always love a One Direction single release, not just because we get the equivalent of musical honey poured into our earholes with all the harmonies, top notes and beautifully spun lyrics seeping into our unconscious forever more, tucked away in our minds for all eternity like a precious gift from the musical Gods, but also because we get to hear what they have to say on the promo trail.
Seeing as loads of stuff has been going on recently (when is it ever not in the 1d fandom?) the back-to-back interviews give the boys an opportune platform to address a bunch of rumours and clear the air on a few things. Splitting into their usual teams, Niall and Harry sat down with Coup De Main Magazine and shared just how different forwards slash the same things are in the band since Zayn left, with Harry revealing:
"It was obviously different, the process, because there was one less of us. But at the same time, it didn\'t change - in terms of the writing of the album - it didn\'t change that much. The focus over the last five years has always been the same in that we want to make the best record that we can, and I think that didn\'t change in any way. I think everyone was very much on the same page; that we wanted to work really hard on the album and make something that we are proud of, which fortunately we feel like we have done.
He continued, "Obviously the album sounds a little bit different because you\'re missing a voice that was there before, but we\'ve very much grown stronger, probably through the realisation that we all have the same goal for a lot of things.
They then had a bit of a chat about the Justin Bieber release date ruckus, which started off as a bit of joke that then turned sort of sour when Biebs announced that the boys were acting strategically - which may also have been banter, but at this stage we\'re pretty much lost tbh. Anyway, Niall and Harry aren\'t up for swinging around a samurai sword in a battle over their melodies, with Nialler pleading for peace in the fandom:
There is no need for a fight, if they are fighting. We just happen to be releasing our albums on the same day. It\'s happened to us before; our first couple of albums were released on the same day as Rihanna. I think the press have just made a bit of a deal out of it because it\'s us and Justin Bieber. It\'s fine. You know you\'re gonna be up against someone in the charts - it just happens that we have fallen on the same day. Anything you would like to add to that, Harry?
Harry infact did have something to add, announcing "
I don\'t think anyone makes a record with competing with someone else in mind. I think then you don\'t make it for the right reasons. I think we made the record - we\'re very, very happy with it, we\'re very proud of it - and now we\'re putting it out, and it happens to be on the same day as someone else, and that\'s it. It\'s not a win/lose thing - it\'s, we hope that our fans like it, and if it does well that would be amazing, but that\'s not ultimately what it\'s about.
Sorry, we\'re reeling ourselves in, that was a momentary slip-up in our otherwise completely professional lives.
ANYWAY, Harry then also spilled a bit on how the bands don\'t mind being perceived as role models, sharing: "I don\'t think it bothers us, although I think it bothers some people. We\'re honoured, I would say, more than that, that anyone would look at you in that way. Not all of our fans are young, but we have to acknowledge that there are some that are young, so I think it\'s naïve to not acknowledge the responsibility of having a lot of younger people viewing what you\'re doing. I think it\'s important to keep that in mind, you know what I mean?
