I mean, If I was her I'd pick Sev, but I'm not. I mean, there's the obvious reason that the series never would have happened without this pairing, and then if you think about it, Lily really didn't deserve Snape (In my opinion.) I mean, she, like Ginny, was always made out to be this wonderful sweet beautiful person who could do no wrong but she's not. She started dating the boy who antagonized her old best friend for years simply because 'he exists'. It just...I never really liked her, she just gave me this vibe that those annoying know it all's tend to give off.

Snape chose dark magic over her, end of story. don't get me wrong i have nothing against the ship, i also think the story is beautiful. but Lily chose James for reason.

I love Lily/Sev but no james-no Harry and Lily was obvs happy with him!

I understand Snape loved her, and I like the pairing Lily/Severus, but come to think of it, if she ended up with Snape, Harry wouldn't have been born and the series wouldn't even exist so I pick James.

There would be no story if it was Sev and not James.

I like James, I do, But in my mind, Lily never even liked him in the beginning and it was almost liked he tricked her into liking him...

1. There'd be no story without Lily and James. There'd be no Harry.
2. Lily and Sev would never have worked while he was still enamoured with the Dark Arts and friends with wannabe Death Eaters. Possibly he could learn the errors of his ways, but it'd probably still only happen once she was in danger.
3. James grew up to be an Order member who died trying to save his wife and child, while at the same time Sev became a Death Eater.
