To me Snape was one of the few characters in the entire series who had the complexity of a real human, who went from evil to good based on selfish desires and some morals, who was chronically flawed yet rose to overcome his shortcoming for the greater good, and for the ever present unrequited love he kept alive

everything that snape do, he do it because of his love to lily, all the bad thing he do, all of it just an act, he's a hero and I think it's pretty clear which side he choose, he just misunderstood, but draco, he's undecided, sometime he try to help harry (malfoy manor) but sometime he try to hurt him (room of requirement),he can't kill dumbledore but at the end he didn't choose dumbledore side, it confusing

A gift of a character as per JKR. He's the proof that people are not all black and white (despite his attire) but they come in all shades of gray.

Draco did not have really a choice. While Severus made bad choices when he was young, and was able to correct them by making other, more positive choices later. Severus wanted to become a DE to impress Lily. While Draco was left no choice, Lucius pushed him into it.

Draco wasn't that complex, really. If you think about it. Well, not compared to Snape. He was that way because of his parents & upbringing like a lot of children are.

This question was one of those that there was no question about in my mind. It had to be Severus Snape. Through out the course of the books (later movies) you learn bit by bit, hint after hint, about the Professor. A word here, a trust shown there, a betrayal given over there, distrust fostered, dislike intended, honor implied, loyalty accepted, brilliance implied.....each page upon which he was mentioned was designed to give his story more character and depth.
I'm so glad Ala Rickman accepted the role.

There was a deleted scene where Draco runs from his parents to (presumably) save Harry. They should have kept it in the movie, it would have confirmed his redemption.
