It's the way they should talk. Because Hogwarts is located somewhere around Britian.

It's a book from Britain, based in the UK, with a cast from the UK. Why would it be confusing?

Though I must admit I don't recall any of the HP character ever reverting to the British language. That I remember, they almost always spoke English

LOL. Well, there's a difference between American English and British English.

Although, I guess if you were naive enough to think that, since the books were translated into American English, they would speak American English in the movies, you would be confused.

^ There's also a difference between British English and the British language. The first is the form of language used in the UK and the later was an ancient language spoken by the Britons (an ancient Celtic people). And I don't remember anyone in HP ever speaking it.

^I'm assuming the person who posted this pick doesn't know that "British" has two (at least)meanings when it comes to speaking.

Not really, considering I am British (English). And Hogwarts is located on the British Isles, and that's how they're supposed to speak...

No, since I am British. We're always subjected to American films and TV shows, I don't think it'll kill you to watch something in British.

Why would you find the accent "confusing"?

Why should it be? It's a very welcomed break from the ubiquitous American English, if you ask me. Besides the setting is in Britain! Please, don't tell me you would rather they spoke American English.

Nope. I don't get confused because I've lived in Britain for a few years, so I'm more used to their English than I am with American English.
