I am not denying that he was a big jerk in the fifth book but before that he was pretty good and let Harry get away with a lot. He could have been expelled when he blew up him aunt in his third year.

As much as I despise both, Fudge had annoying authority issues, and I think Scrimgeour takes the return of Voldemort much more seriously.

i can never forgive fuge b/c of wat he did in OOTP and yes, scimgeour was quite stuped but i think not telling on harry made up for that

ok yes, Fudge was nice before the 5th book but then he showed his true colours, personally i think he's a coward. Scrimgeour might have been very rough on Harry and franky not very sensitive or particularly caring, but at least he died a sort of a hero, as he didn't give away Harry's whereabouts to the death eaters. He was much braver than Fudge.

Scrimgeour gets shit done but he does it wrong and he's an ass. I vote Kingsley Shacklebolt as best Minister of Magic. Fudge was sweet, he didn't have a clue what he was doing and caved in to fear but I still like him more.

fudge was useless even before Voldemort was back and easily influenced by bribes at least Scrimgeour had a backbone and he used to be head of the Auror office so he had to have had at least some brains and leadership skills and he actually cared about the war and not how it would affect his power he died defying Voldemort and to help Harry because despite not liking him he knew that Harry was a chance against Voldemort.
