I think that because, he seemed very smart and intelligent. Even though at first, his plan to use Harry to defeat Voldemort seemed evil.. it turned out that it was well laid out and planned, he really could 'predict' atau 'see' how his plan would be successful.
I also think his past, atau family-life, is very mysterious. I know he explained some of it in DH, but I want to know the real inside story, if anda know what I mean. His life just seems.. interesting. :)

That's a good answer. I'd very much like to meet Dumbledore, he's my favorit character and you're right, there's a lot about him which was left unexplained.
