I don't see how it's even possible to create a character without a personality, let alone most of them.

Definitely not. Most people who judge the Twilight Saga judge it based on their perception of the movies, and have never really tried to read the books. It's like trying to take a stab at HP without reading the books which however good the movies may be, will never exceed the brilliance of the books.

Stephenie is not a good author. I love Twilight, but the books were appallingly written. However, she did try, and like cassie-1-2-3 said, you can't really create a character without a personality. They all have personalities, just not ... very good ones.
