Bella is not at all easy to relate to, it is just easy to pretend you are her, there is a difference. Bella is a very 2-dimensional character and doesn't have a personality therefore any girl can pick up the book and find that Bella is just like them. In Harry Potter you can relate to the characters. It is true that not everyone can relate to Harry in every way but that is why there are supporting characters. You cannot relate to a character unless they have a personality.

Oh, and I read the first four Harry Potter books when I was 6 and I understood them. This was back in early 2002 when only the first movie existed and I had to use my imagination to create scenes.

It's easy to read Harry Potter at any age but if one has enough emphaty when reading the Twilight series he or she would feel the pain that Bella feels, the anger, the desire and further more...

And when we talk about vampires we should have in mind the attraction that the human kind has for the unforbiden, the mistery and the mistic parts of existence on every level.

Twilight is more of a romance... Harry Potter was written for those of us who chose a challenge in their early years, rather than an easy book, one with a rich vocabulary like HP has.

Think of it like this: Harry Potter is carved in stone. It is down in history. Unlike Twilight; the insanity over Twilight will eventually subside.

And while the Twilight saga relies on the movies (Pattinson and Stewart), Harry Potter is about the book itself. Although the movies were amazing and I can't wait for DH part one :D

I'll even chip in to save the situation by pointing out the things those two have in common:
1. Just like in HP, there is a battle between good and evil, right?
2. And there is a bad guy in both that seeks power and wants to kill many people... XD
3. They both have a hint of romance where one would do anything to help/save the other. (This is more noticeable in Twilight, but Ginny would do anything to save Harry, wouldn't she? How about Ron & Hermione? See?)
4. They are both about a 'secret society', if you will. The wizards are a secret, hidden away from the muggle world, just as the vampires live in the forest and keep their ways to themselves.

1. Twilight has NO plot. At all.

3. Harry Potter movies are SO Much better than Twilight.

5. Twilight is corny.
6. Stephanie Meyer has no creativity. Vampires were already created by Bram Stoker and were put on the big screen with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
7. Vampire's were ever made to look like super heroes
8. Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel were there first and have a better plot
9. Vampire's are supposed to be evil... or are kind of evil
10. Harry Potter has WAY better special effects then Twilight
11. The book was pretty well known but until the movie came out the book, story, and everything became even more freaken terrible!
12. Vampire's should not have venom
13. The Morganville Vampire's series totally disses twilight and is a way better series of books (better than Twilight that is)
14. Harry Potter focuses on all age groups, my mom read them to me in first grade and I totally understood it. Anywhere from a six year old to and 106 year old can read Harry Potter and understand it.

2) sparklepyres or vampires, call them how you like - they have more nobility, more education, they are more fun, have more attractiveness than lots and lots of ordinary people. I bet that if a vampire wants to do magic, he can. Vampires can be great wizards but they don't need to because they are already great in their definition.
3) it is important to anticipate te ending of a story - this is everyones mind exercise - but the Twilight series is not just "about a sappy love story that could have reached its happy ending in 4 seconds". If the reader gets cought up in the events of the story, the success of that story is sure. The complexity of the Twilight characters is obvious, and furthermore one can see the process of evolution that they go through in the 4 books.

The feminism supporters would be dissapointed to see your doubts :) Just imagine that Edward was just a guy and Bella was the vampire - she could have done the same things if she was in love with him and then the readers would have understood Edward's pain if Bella left him...

2) i'm ok with normal human beings,I am one of them... it's just that the Cullens are better than some of the normal people despite the fact that they are vampires. There are fighting with their instincts, that is why they are good and they don't kill people... so they use their brains! The pale skin and the diamond-shine come in the vampire package with a ribbon on top, they can't change that so we can take it as it is. About the smell...that is another thing that makes them special, it's not any perfume that anyone could have from the mall. (my boyfriend usually smells like plane fuel and iron and dust because he is an acrobatic plane pilot and that makes him special for me; nobody else smells like him - this doesn't mean that he's not washing himself :P )

Vampires have special abilitys too: hearing others thoughts, seeing the future, causing pain with their minds and so on. Not to mention the physical strenght. Let's say that both the wizards and vampires have nature-given gifts.

I have read HP, the first 3 books when I was in the 9th grade - a long time ago... HP and Twilight have 2 different writing styles, it's easy to see that 2 very different persons are the authors. They are unic in their own ways! I probably like Twilight better because Edward seems to me like a new age Prince Charming, riding his volvo :) (and probably because Robert Pattinson fits with the character)

If one likes HP or Twilight - it's a matter of personal decision, influenced or not by style, memories, the possibility to dream...It's not a crime to be affiliated to something as long as you don't disturb other people ;) I assure you I am cought up in reality. It's just nice to speek with others about something that yow like, to give arguments is a great way to put your mind to work. You are a challenging person, pretty smart and you have a strong personality for your age. Good for you!
