What else would anda compare Harry Potter and/or Twilight to?

We already compare the two series to each other, but if anda could compare each series to something else (movies, music, books, politics, etc.), what would anda compare them to?

Harry Potter-I would compare them to The Beatles. Besides the obvious British connection, they have longevity in common. When both HP and the Fab Four came out, no one knew the impact they would have not only in the U.K., but around the world as well. Although the Beatles broke up and are down to 2 members, their musik is still considered important after how many decades. Same goes with HP. Although the buku are finished and there is only one movie left, it's still populer (theme park anyone?). Another comparison is the backlash that both got in the media (HP with witchcraft and The Beatles with their drug use). Even with the negative publicity, people still cinta them.

Twilight-I would compare Twilight to the Justin Biebers and Jonas Brothers type. Although they're hugely populer at the moment, I don't believe it has true staying power. I give their popularity another couple years and then people will forget about it and start wondering why they liked it to begin with. I already see Twilight's popularity starting to die out (coming from a former major Twihard like myself, that's saying something). I knew Twilight was going to be a fad to me, so I wasn't surprised when I actually stopped liking it (although some of the characters are likeable).
