twilight debat statement #2: The characters in Harry potter matured greatly while the characters in twilight went the opposite.

First off, I don't think the characters in Twilight became less mature with time than they were at the beginning. That doesn't change the fact that they were immature, and I mean Bella especially.

Reasons why Bella is immature:
1.She didn't plan on going to college even when Edward wasn't there in New Moon. And don't try to argue with me about this, here's the exact quote:
""I've got some money saved. College fund, anda know." College, schmollege, I thought to myself. It wasn't like I'd saved up enough to go anywhere special—and besides, I had no desire to leave Forks anyway."

A mature person would think of their future even at the time of great distress. Plus, this is very selfish of her, considering she'd just be living for free at Charlie's place with no plans of moving out, getting an education atau apparently having a job either (as it's stated that it's difficult to get jobs in Forks because of its size and Bella was lucky to even get that part time job she's working at).

2.She lies a lot. Basically every time she speaks to her dad the dialogue ends with "I lied." She also disobeys him; remember that time when he specifically asked her to not go into the woods, went to work and then she was off to the woods a couple of menit later just to run into Laurent?

3.She thinks her emotions and her feelings for Edward are bigger than anybody else's feelings for anybody else. This striked me as particularly ridiculous. Edward may be able to cinta supernaturally strongly, but Bella is a human and that makes her feelings exactly the same as the feelings of any other 17-year old girl's feelings. Yet she doesn't even think Charlie would understand her great cinta tragedy, even though Charlie lost his whole fricking family when Renee left, and is still in cinta with her after 17 years. IMO that's truer cinta than Edward and Bella's cinta ever was.

4.Bella also has severe self-esteem problems. She's constantly putting herself down and thinks she's not worthy of Edward and their happiness. A mature person generally has grown out of this kind of a self-doubt and accepted themselves as who they are and even learned to cinta themselves, and not wanting to change a thing. Bella here can't wait to become beautiful, so that she could finally "stand selanjutnya to Edward and feel like she belonged there." Why is her outer appearance even a factor in this? Why does she feel like not belonging selanjutnya to him just because she isn't beautiful? And would her becoming beautiful really fix the situation if she felt like she doesn't belong selanjutnya to him atau that he's better than she is?

Sorry for the long rant.Should've diposting this as an article, maybe. I still have plenty of reasons so maybe I will :)

What makes anda say they got immature in twilight?

Well I am not sure I can compare the both,I have only read the Twilight series,I have not read the Harry Potter because in my opinion it looks kind of boring.I personally like Twilight lebih than any other book series.But again this is my opinion.

I do not see any evidence of the characters becoming immature.

Edward started out as a guy who was afraid to pursue a relationship with Bella. He was generally unhappy and lonely. He had dark thoughts about him own existance.
As he becomes closer to Bella, she helps him realize that he is capable of loving and being sincere. He can protect her instead of put her in direct danger. He is not as evil as he thought. She helped him become lebih confident in his own self control.

Jacob was just a kid in the beginning. He was playful and didn't take much seriously. He wasn't exactly the leader type. While still playful and a jokester in the end, he has become a leader. He always did what he was told in the beginning. He went to Bella's prom under his father's orders. He did whatever Sam told him to do when he joined the pack. He later began to stand up for himself and prove that he could be a leader if he wants to, to the degree where he began leading his own seperate pack.

I do not think the Twilight characters became immature, I think they mostly stayed the same. Sure, Jacob changed a little, but he was for the most part only seen as that guy who was there to be with and protect Bella when Edward was not.
Bella was always whiny and selfish. It's not a very mature decision to choose not to go to college to get married when you're 18. It is an immature choice to have a child when anda know the chances of surviving that birth are minimal (even with the venom, they were not sure it would happen because she lost so much blood), if the birth was a threat to her, chances are it would be a huge threat to the baby (it almost drowned inside of her, amazing it was A-OK)
Edward goes from brooding loner, to doting boyfriend, to doting husband/father. No big changes there. The whole time he's all "I cinta anda but I can't be with you." He even refuses at first for Bella to be trained to defend herself when she's a newborn.
Charlie and the whole cast of humans NEVER change.
It's rarely shown that the Cullen's have a life outside of Bella. What do they do all hari besides hunt and wait for Bella to have a problem?

But Harry Potter on the other hand:
Over seven years they age and mature just as people in their sorts of situations would.
The Vernon's are pretty flat until the very end (which I thought worked perfectly, Dudley made my tear up!)
As the Trio grew, I loved atau hated them at different points. I hated Harry in OotP, he bugged me, but he matured as he needed to.
Hermione and Ron both grew up. They fell in cinta over time, they used to hate eachother.
I could go on about HP forever, feel free to ask about anything anda don't think I mentioned enough (I'm not a very good writer :P)
