Good lord, I don’t even ship these two but they are one of the only two, long term will they/won’t they couples on the show. It makes sense they are on the list. And as others have said they aren’t the only non canon couple listed. Just deal and have fun.

Sorry, but the only ones saying they are not a couple are you bitter, defeated bethylers. TWD announced that your ship NEVER existed and Daryl was DADDY, not lover and you can’t stand it. Everyone here who is NOT a bethyler agrees that Daryl and Carol ARE a couple which is how the majority of the entire fandom sees them. People think of Carol they immediately think of Daryl and vice versa. Your bitter whining won’t change that. They ARE considered a couple.

This past weekend at Walker Stalker Andrew Lincoln said on stage to the audience that he “digs the SEXUAL TENSION between Daryl and Carol.” Even Andrew Lincoln knows they are together.

They are currently at #7. All those people voting see them as a couple and each one of those voters represents THOUSANDS of people who either don’t vote polls or don’t know about this one so, yes, I would say that #7 in the poll means the people see them as a couple. Even people who don’t ship admit that they are together. Just read the comments.

I LOVE this comparison!! That is the perfect way to describe Daryl and Carol. The sexual tension has always existed and fans have always been on the edge of their seats with will they or won’t they….just like Ross and Rachel. Look what finally happened with Ross and Rachel and how long that tension was kept building. Perfect!!

Omg I adore Daryl & Carol!!! They are as much a couple as everyone else on this list bc they obviously love each other & are each other’s person/best friend/soulmate, etc. There is no one Daryl treasures more than Carol & vice versa. They will go to the ends of the Earth for the other & have saved/rescued/protected each other numerous times. If that’s not LOVE, idk what is! They are a couple in every sense of the word!

The votes and their climb up the list say otherwise. There is no one Daryl cares about more than Carol and vice versa. They reached out to each other in season 2 and have been there for each other ever since. They are soulmates and their votes on this poll PROVE that is how most people see them.

Daryl & Carol are the heart & soul of TWD! And if they weren’t a couple, the show would not have posters, mugs & other collectibles showing them together. Even Carol’s figurine has her holding Daryl’s crossbow! It’s obvious these two will end up together as a full-fledged romantic couple. Tptb, knowing Daryl & Carol are gold together, are savoring their “slow-grow” bc they draw a lot of interest. The writers have been alluding to this pairing since the start, never failing to show us their strong bond & parallels every single season. They are already a couple to a lot of fans. At this point, all we need are the “I love you’s”!

Daryl and Rick are as close to being brothers as you can be without actually having the same parents.

Daryl with Beth? Yes, I’m sure Daryl was madly in love with a person younger than Noah… Especially since he called Noah “a kid”. Makes sense. Not. Even the last issue of the Walking Dead magazine have included her in their article about the children (the word they used) of the Walking dead. You know, alongside Carl, Sophia, etc.

Let’s be honest, we know what they’re really complaining about.

On her own page one of the people most vocally complaining that Daryl and Carol are not a couple is spreading the word to others on her page to vote up Glenn and Maggie to beat Daryl/Carol. Funniest part is that her page is all about Daryl and beth which TWD itself, the creator and the executive producer/showrunner already shot down as a couple. LOL

They shot down Carol and Daryl as well lol. Norman even said he didn’t want his character with her

What are you talking about? They have always ended every Caryl quote with “never say never” or “I don’t know” – but the creator of the show literally said “Daryl did not love beth in a romantic way”

And the show runner himself said “I’m not even entertaining that idea” in regards to Daryl and Beth. But it’s so convenient for them to forget that.

AND the only thing we know for sure… that is 100% canon… is that Daryl saw Beth as a kid. As if it wasn’t evident enough from their episodes together, he even said Noah was “a kid” and Noah was a year or two older than Beth. (Beth was 17-18 when she died, Noah was 19-20.) THAT is the only thing ACTUALLY canon.

Norman ALSO says he plays Daryl like he’s 35. Dream on, Norman. He couldn’t play 35 if his life depended on it. He is middleaged and aging faster every season because of his lifestyle. He is an actor, not a producer or writer and has no say in the scripts and he said that however the writers do it is great with him. He ALSO said he would like Daryl and Carol to be a slow grow, not just a scene where he pushes her up against a tree AND, TWD has never shot down CARYL….ONLY bethyl. Scott Gimple was so disgusted by the thought of old Daryl being with young Beth that he said they would NEVER go there. They were NEVER a couple .

Isn’t weird that this couple from The 100 got more than 7000 votes in 3 days?? Just saying…

There might be many reasons for that actually… 1) 2000-3000 people voting religiously everyday. 2) Recent 3×04 episode that had many Clarke/Lexa moments (so fans went crazy with shipping lol). 3) Or maybe because it’s actually several fandoms voting for one ship (fans of Carmilla, Orphan Black and the 100 sticking together) to promote one of their OTPs

Promoted it the wrong way imo. Our ship (hannigram) was important too. I needed a new show too, but whenever a fandom cheats in a poll it puts me off…

Well… pls don’t blame the whole fandom for the actions of the few. If there really was a cheating, admins of this website should try to identify the spamming and delete those votes. I’m happy for my ship getting to the top, but I also won’t be pleased if we win only through unfair means.

Some might say teaming up with lots of other fandoms is pretty unfair. But I know its the norm now. Anyway, I’ve had my say. LOL!

It’s not really teaming up. No one asked other fandoms to vote for The 100. At least I didn’t hear about that… Usually though, people watch 2 or more shows at the same time or gradually add more shows to their favourite list and thus join more than one fandom.

Aside from the 100, I also watch Person of Interest (Root&Shaw are in the poll too). But when you see one of your favourite couples getting so close to the 1st place, you support the one that has the biggest chance of winning the poll. There is nothing unfair in this.

For LGBT people this is good representation and promotion. Instead of angry, we should be proud that in the poll with huge amount of straight couples, Hannigram and Clexa got to the top 3.

It would be beautiful if it had fair votes, this way it is just not nice!

Okay idk how to explain this to someone not in the fandom but it’s not so much that we’re getting other fandoms to vote for us, it’s more to do with the fact that the fandoms of The 100/Orphan Black/Lost Girl/Faking It/Person of Interest/Carmilla/Orange Is The New Black/Pretty Little Liars/Pretty much anything else with a f/f couple have basically all merged into one big fandom haha

I’m a fan of Hannigram and it was important, but the Clarke/Lexa couple has a lot of dedicated fans too, and they’re heavily promoted on social media as Tumblr or Twitter, and the show is currently getting more recognition. The fandom is currently voting religiously (and every fan of other f/f pairings: Carmilla; Orphan Black, OUAT, PLL, Lost Girl…), you can see the link being boosted on social networks because one of the ladies might die by the end of the season and the fans want to show that this rare canon f/f pairing on a very mainstream channel matters. I’m personally voting religiously but i’ll be happy if Hannigram wins because that was one hell of a ride too

Can’t recover 8,000 votes. We are a dedicated fandom, but we can’t win against 10 fandoms. No one could. Wish you’d told us from the start you were going to do that, we wouldn’t have bothered! LOL. And tbh a canon m/m ship is even MORE rare on a mainstream channel and it was important for us to show how much it meant. Way to make it feel like our ship isn’t as important as “Clexa.” To say its rare, I mean, its not. Willow/Tara was one of the first like 15 years ago! But someone tell me what the hell Carmilla is?

I would agree. Hiding IP address I would assume. Even with other fandoms voting for them, its still very unlikely to vote 5,000 times in one day. 15,000 in 5 days. Other fandoms don’t care about their allies that much. Sorry, I don’t buy it. Shame, because this was fun and one fandom had to ruin it.

Actually, they are very popular on the internet and they have die-hard fans that are trending this link all day long on tumblr, twitter, etc… Tiny fandom but very involved, much like the Hannibal fans

The Daryl/Carol gripers are bethylers whose ship never existed according to TPTB at TWD because Daryl was too old for teen kid beth and said he was her surrogate father, not her lover. They are butthurt and howling because so many want Daryl & Carol together and the only people who wanted bethyl were the bethylers. Now they are up voting Glenn and Maggie simply to defeat Daryl and Carol and not because they like them as a couple, so even if Gleggie was to win, it would be a false win. They are just bad losers because TWD trashed and sank their ship.

I think that Sam & Caitronia are the most beautiful couple of all the series that is out there
