So i was thinking about Derek. When derek & addison were interns with richard, were they in seattle?

addison came at the last episode of season 1. Derek has a thing for ferry boats. Addison really hates the rain and they berkata something about how they are programmed 2 only like manhattan. But when Addison & derek were interns they were w/richard. Richard has been at seattle/seattle grace forever.

There are 2 options:
a) the writers made a mistake.
b) Richard transfered to New York (e.g. since Derek and Addison had a private pratice there [not 100% sure though]) and meanwhile he was the resident of Addy and Derek.
I can't give anda a 100% answer though. Sorry.
