New Game of Thrones Collectibles from Dark Horse and Funko Unveiled at Toy Fair 

Let the merch frenzy begin! Toy Fair NY 2017 is taking place this weekend, giving vendors the opportunity to show off their goods and unveil the hot new collectibles. It’s always a good place to seek out

toys, and today brings us news of fresh items for us to chase after.

Pop! Vinyl figures in their Toy Fair catalog. The toys include: Cersei Lannister in her regal new season 6 finale costume, Tyrion Lannister in his Hand of the Queen-era styling (wine in hand, natch), Jon Snow in season 6 Stark gear, Tormund Giantsbane brandishing a blade, Ramsay Bolton & Jon Snow battling in a 2-pack, an oversized six-inch-tall Wun-Wun riddled with arrows (ouch!), and a long overdue addition to the line, Bran Stark.

Check out the rest at PopVinylWorld! There’s no word yet on when specifically they’ll be available this year but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for news, as I need that Cersei like burning.

Dark Horse Comics shared two beautiful new collectibles at Toy Fair NY today. These new figures are set to be released in June, coinciding with the Season 7 premiere this summer, according to Dark Horse. The newest figures, Daenerys Targaryen and Melisandre, feature detailed sculpts, with updated deluxe packaging.

This is the second Daenerys piece from Dark Horse- the previous Dany figure depicted her with her soon-to-be-hatched dragon eggs. The new figure shows the warrior Daenerys, as we saw her in season 6, with Dothraki-style clothing and gloves.

Dark Horse teases that they’ll also be revealing “fresh sculpts of previously released character figures for Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, and Arya Stark at a later date.”

about time on the new Pop vinyls. Where are the Greyjoy ones?

The Jon Snow/Ramsay figure is going to be amazing! I bet it will cost a lot lol. Mel looks gorgeous yas!

Cersei looks amazing!! The crown, the dress, the pose! And solo Jon Snow too!

I’d like a Tormund figure to place my Brienne between him and my Jaime.

They should create a Leering Tormund and a Looking-Anywhere-Else-but-at-Tormund Brienne and sell them as a two-pack.

I loooove that Jon is finally out of his NW blacks and in his Stark gear. I collect baseball player bobbleheads, have never purchased a GOT figure, but I am very tempted to buy the Ramsay vs. Jon one when it comes out. It looks awesome.

Those Darkhorse figures always look amazing. They did a great job in capturing Dany’s strut and Mel’s face.

‘Premiere this summer’ seems vague enough as not to be news we didn’t already know, methinks.

I’m so happy that Bran finally gets his own figure! It was about time.

Before the show ends we need a new figure of Sansa with her red hair and her Stark dress.

And also for some strange reason Bran’s figure reminded me of the Outsider from Dishonored, lol.

Strongly second this!!!!! Do we need to start a petition? ‘dark’ Sansa is not Sansa (at least not to me), I’m tempted to buy one and recolor it – but i’d probably mess it up… love that we are finally getting BRAN though!

While I love the updated look for Dany and am excited for the uptaded looks for Jon (hopefully with Stark gear and new hairdo), Tyrion and Arya, I was really hoping Dark Horse would give us all-new additions like Tormund, Catelyn, Theon, Davos, Missandei, Renly, Daario, Sam, Bronn, Olenna, Yara, Ramsay, Pod and Gendry (I know, I know, I’m greedy).

Also, I really think it sucks that Catelyn hasn't been included in ANY figures collection so far. Not even by Funko. She's such an important piece from the story and is missing every time. Makes me sad.

It’s about time Bran got one. He should have been in the original batch, tbf. This is like releasing Harry Potter merchandise featuring every character but Harry himself until the seventh film rolled around.

For Dark Horse, what does “fresh sculpts” mean in this context? Do they mean “Arya, in Braavos Lana costume?” or just “a better version and re-release of the pre-existing Arya model?”

They’re saying the new season comes out this summer. The DH toys come out in June. This is not a confirmation of the premiere date.

Based on screen time and popularity, I would hope that next up is Ser Davos of House Seaworth. With or without detachable fingers.

And for adults like me who are regressing back to their childhood (or never left it), talking figurines with prerecorded catch phrases of the characters in the actors’ voices would be cool. And it wouldn’t cost too much to put a tiny digital recording and microphone in the figurine.

Eg, push a button on the back of a Davos figurine and Liam C’s voice announces: “King Stannis is my god”; push it again and he says ” The real war is between the living and the dead. And make no mistake, My Lady. The dead are coming.”

My ideal Arya figurine would have eight or nine recorded exclamations in Maisie’s voice, including:

• “You’re the worst sh-f in the seven kingdoms!” • “Seven Hells!”

• “A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell, and I’m going home.”

• “I’m Arya Stark. I want you to know that. The last thing you’re ever going to see is a Stark smiling down at you as you die.”

• “I wasn’t playing. And I don’t want to be a lady.”

And I’d pay good money for a Stannis that uttered only one word: “Fewer.”

I own an Arya figure, but I’d like one in Braavosi outfit.

OT, but Kit Harington’s confirmed for the Guy Fawkes Day drama. It’ll be on BBC One and also stars Liv Tyler and Mark Gatiss. Sounds amazing!

Another Jon Snow and no sight of Davos or Theon, that has been exist since day 1. What should I do for Funko to make them? Endless email? Petition? Human blood and souls sacrifices?

I’d list some suggested quotes for a talking Sandor, but it would pretty much contain every bit of dialog Rory McCann has ever spoken. (The one scene from S4E1 alone, beginning with “What the f-ck’s a Lommy?” to “…I’m going to have to eat every f—–g chicken in this room” would yield 10+ quotes).

Tyrion, in Peter Dinklage’s voice, and Bronn, in Jerome Flynn’s voice, would be my next candidates after Sandor.

Personally, I’d also like a Lyanna Mormont figurine for my bookshelf, with or without a talking option, though it’d be great to hear Bella R’s voice saying: “I think we’ve had enough small talk. Why are you here?” ; “I doubt it!”; “House Mormont has kept faith with House Stark for a thousand years. We will not break faith today”; “Welcome to Bear Island”; “You refused the call”;

“The North remembers!”; and “He’s my king! From this day, until his last day!”

Would the Tormund come with a drumstick to gnaw on while he’s leering at Brienne? (I’d also want an Edd to roll his eyes at them.)

I know, right? I’ve got Arya and The Hound in their original packaging, vacuum-sealed in acid-free plastic for posterity.

I’d imagine there might be some legal requirements to address in marketing merchandise with the likeness of a minor like Bella R, but with the right licensing deal, a Lyanna Mormont figurine would make a mint for HBO and Bella R would be set for life with a huge trust fund. Besides, there’s already a ton of unauthorized (and crappy) Lyanna Mormont tee shirts, caps, etc with Bella R’s image being sold on the Internet. That little girl, and the cable network that launched her into the stratosphere, should reap the $$ benefits.

I don’t own any of these, but I would get a Varys. So naturally they will never make one…

I would be glad if I helped Bella to make a buck or two! I have purchased, from HBO Shop Europe, a “House Mormont remembers! The North remembers!” T-shirt and I’m waiting for summer to wear it. I wish the actors had their shares from the HBO merchandise.

I wonder if the actors’ sign away their likenesses and voices when they sign their contracts. Stephen Dillane is not the most enthusiastic GoT supporter (perfect for Stannis😠), so I wonder how he is going to feel with thousands of mini-Stannises with his face all over the place. Even if the main actors didn’t contemplate GoT’s popularity at the outset, they surely knew when they were negotiating their contract extensions a couple of years ago.

The more interesting question in my mind pertains to Maisie W and Sophie T, because they were under 18 until fairly recently. I don’t know what the law is in the UK vs. US, or which one would apply, but I seem to recall that in California at least, there are restrictions on child performers’ contracts to protect them from exploitation by embezzling managers and greedy parents.

I wouldn’t enjoy looking at the Sandor and Arya figurines I bought if Rory McCann and Maisie Williams didn’t get a fair share of my money.

My vote is for Davos in the next batch….and Lyanna Mormont!!!
