Chapter 6: Charlotte's past
Mason hefted his bag of provisions over his shoulder, and walked slowly out the door. He walked slowly, but making good time. Why? She didn't have to help me. I only helped her, because i don't see whats so bad about her. Shes a nice person. In fact, i think i heard my uncle Mason mention like her mom atau something... but why did she save me? The mob group is all but completely insane, but i know all they wanted was info about my dad. anda can get that from just about anybody around here. But... Mason stopped in front of the hideout, and looked around carefully, before h shoved the boxes out of the way, and entered the shadowed room. He shut the latch, and walked confidently around in the blackness. He stumbled over to where the candle should have been, and lit it. He held it with two fingers, and surveyed the room, until he found the narrow hallway. He silently placed his bag on the floor, and followed along the wall, until he came to a room. He noticed that the door was slightly open, and a faint glow was coming form inside. He pushed the door open, and found charlotte membaca an old Alchemy book. Mason set the candle down on the desk, and charlotte looked up.
"Hey. anda came." Mason smiled at her. She was a little different form before. Somehow, more... mellow? She wasn't tense, atau afraid of being recognized.
"I brought some food, and drinks, since the plumbing here doesn't work anymore. I also brought your other clothes, and few other pair i thought would suit you." He handed her the other bag he'd been carrying the whole way, and she looked inside it. She smiled at him again.
"Thanks. So, what did anda want to know?" She said, sounding reluctant. Mason noticed that she was sweating. He sat back in his chair, and folded his hands behind his head.
"Nothing." charlotte just stared at him, shocked. People usually want to know EVERYTHING about me... but nothing? Mason sat meneruskan, ke depan slightly, and smiled again, and held his head up, looking at the ceiling.
"Nothing? Why" charlotte asked, sounding confused.
Mason looked at her with serious eyes.
"You don't have to tell me anything until you're ready. I wont force it out of you."
