Vin Diesel Says ‘Furious 7′ Starts a New Trilogy; ‘Fast & Furious 8′ Set in New York

is underway. Franchise star Vin Diesel is out and about promoting the new 

adventure to feature Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and his family. Skip ahead to the 2:30 mark in the video, for the relevant information.

Diesel, in the above video, reiterates his past comments indicating that the idea is for Kurt Russell to play a larger role in

(as Diesel says is the current plan) seems like a fairly logical move for the franchise.

They keep using the word “universe” when talking about FF movies. Studios are obsessed with creating cinematic universes now. I feel like we’re going to get an announcement any day now for a FF spinoff that is going to be expanding the “universe” of FF.

Ok so Black’s character is back for 7… does that mean Han(Sung Kang) is not in 7???

Han died in Furious 6 (well, technically he died in Tokyo Drift), so he cannot be in 7. All movies except this newest one take place prior to the events of Tokyo Drift.
