Okay, first off, that judul is a lie.

Based on the way things are going with the new club update feature so far, I thought we could use some guidelines. These are not official, they are merely suggestions on how to decide on a new icon atau banner as a team. Only large klub have the new suggestion options, so there are thousands of people there whose opinions count! (Not that smaller spots aren't valuable, anda guys rock just as hard.) The suggested steps for changing a club's look are the same up until Step 3 for both large klub with the new poling feature, and smaller ones with user-run poling for change.

It's important to remember that fanpop is a community, and should do things as a group. Randomly starting a poling for a new icon, banner atau background is rude to other club members. Making icon and banners takes time, and the first options (likely made oleh the person who started the poll) are diberikan the unfair advantage of being there the longest. Early voters aren't likely to check back in every hari to see if new options have been added. Following these steps will help ensure that everyone has a fair chance to participate and that all options are diberikan the same amount of consideration. (It'll also keep anda from getting yelled at.) Now, let's get to it, eh?

I usually leave this poling up for a week, unless the results are overwhelmingly in favor of one option atau another after a few days.

If the club vote no, try again in a few months. If the club vote yes, proceed to step 2.

Step 2: forum & Advertisements
Create a forum for suggestions from other users. link is a baru saja example of a spot makeover that went smoothly, if you'd like to see how that goes.

I like to leave a suggestion forum open for a week atau two. If it's a small spot with just a few participants, just a week will probably do. Users can always ask for lebih time on submission forum I start. You'll need to include the dimensions of the icon and banner in your forum post. icon are square and 100x100 pixels atau larger. Banners are 800x100 pixels, atau a size that scales down to that. (1600x200, 2400x300, etc.) This is important, because gambar that are not those dimensions will be stretched when uploaded to the spot, and that ain't pretty.

It's also a good idea to iklan the suggestions forum, in case someone missed the initial poll. The most effective ways to do that are link and polls, but adding a dinding post too wouldn't hurt. link are probably the best way, because adding link to a club bumps it to the front of the mosaics on user profiles. This lets users know that something is going on in a club even if they've overlooked it in their updates, especially for inactive spots.

Step 3: Voting & Change
Once everyone has diserahkan their creations, this is where it can get a little tricky...

If you're voting in sets, make a graphic with all the options paired together. Then anda can create your poling and link to the image in the comments, so users can see it all at once and pick the set they like most. I've found that this is the fastest and simplest way, as it only requires one poling and it's very unlikely that the club will end up with a mismatched set. (I'm not quite sure how to accomplish this with the new voting feature for large klub yet.)

If users didn't menyerahkan their graphics as sets (or if you're running the contest in a large spot with the special polls), I prefer to vote for the banner first. It's larger, it took lebih work, and it's easier for users modify their icon to work with the new banner instead of vice versa. After the new banner is determined (a week should be enough time if it's a small club, fanpop sets its own deadline for poling in large clubs), it's time to pick an icon. What I like to do for these is to pair each icon contender with the winning banner in one graphic, so users can see what each icon will look like with the new banner. Link to it in the komentar of the icon poll. This doesn't guarantee a matching set, but it helps reduce the Clash of the Graphics that often happens when the icon and banner vote run simultaneously.

Unless the spot in need of a change doesn't have an icon atau banner at all, anda should include the current ones in the polls.

The special poling for large klub are monitored oleh fanpop, so anda don't need to do anything once those are over. If you're overseeing a change in a smaller spot without that options, a moderator will help anda with the change if anda ask nicely and provide link to the suggestion forum and the winning polls. (link is my go-to Mod.)

As anda can see, there's a lot lebih to changing a club's look than just clicking a link and uploading an image. It takes a responsible user willing to put in the time and effort of organizing, advertising, making sure everyone is included and following the guidelines, and in the case of smaller spots, reporting the results to a moderator. If anda can't handle that, please leave the job of overseeing a spot change to someone who can. There's no shame in letting someone lebih experienced take the reins!

I've got another suggestion for fanpop.
What do anda think? (Please comment!)



The only game on fanpop is pop kuis (except the games fan makes in the fourms). It's so much fun to answer and do pertanyaan and try to be at the puncak, atas list. But there is only one game like that, so i come up with an idea.
I'll be like the pop kuis with a puncak, atas daftar and the fan makes all the matches and anda can laporan them (you can't remove them oleh yourself), everyone can komentar the match after doig them and it'll shows who has done every match and how hard every match is (%), as i berkata it's pretty much like pop quiz!

For quite a while I've been commenting on other people's picks and waiting for a reply, and refreshing the page, and refreshing the page, and refreshing the page, only to find that they haven't replied for 2 days and finally figure that they have probably gone on holiday atau actually have a life.

So I have thought up an idea to keep us aware of any komentar on our comments.... whatever; anyway I have thought up of a "keep me updated" button; this means that komentar appear in our update box as if we owned the content.

I like to post my ideas in an artikel rather than a suggestions email because I like to see what my fellow fan think. If it's getting annoying I'll email anda guys like everyone else does.

Ok, this is my first time to write a soapbox. Please be gentle with me and don't make it hurt too much. *giggle*

So I've been a member of fanpop for a little while now, and I've seen how the community has evolved and grown. I first came to fanpop for two reasons: link and link.

Towards the end of Season 1 of Heroes, my interest in fanpop started waning. Call it TV burnout. But a funny thing happened: Dave sent me a message about a new feature that was going to debut: Picks! I dabbbled in it a little oleh adding the pick: link It was fun, but I didn't think I'd be creative enough to add any good...
