Emma Watson collaborates with fashion house Alberta Ferretti
"Harry Potter's" Emma Watson is taking a high-heeled step into the world of high fashion as a collaborator for the Italian fashion house Alberta Ferretti.
The former face of burberry and new face of Lancome honed her desain skills at People Tree, a fair-trade British brand, and will soon launch a five-item eco-friendly line for Ferretti called Pure Threads oleh Emma Watson.
"I'm pleased that a luxury brand such as Alberta Ferretti has decided to create ecological clothes," the 20-year-old Brit told Women's Wear Daily. "I believe this is a big step meneruskan, ke depan for all of the international fashion industry, but also an important step for an increased sensitivity to the problem of ecology."
We have to say it: Little Hermione Granger is all grown up.
Watson, who is also filming "Perks of Being a Wallflower" with "Percy Jackson" bintang Logan Lerman, has always expressed an interest in fashion. The Brown universitas undergrad fittingly received Elle magazine's Style icon Award last month. She's traipsed around parties, premieres and award shows in true "it" girl fashions designed oleh Valentino and Hakaan, pictured above.
Pure Threads will be available online March 21 -- and we certainly hope this goes over better than the Ungaro upset did for Lindsay Lohan.
In other wizarding news, Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who has played Harry Potter, will be taking a hiatus from his stage role in "How to Succeed in Business" this summer to promote "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part II."
The ultimate edition of the eight-film series will premiere in Trafalgar Square on July 7 and opens worldwide July 15. Culture Monster has the full scoop.
Ferretti berkata that Watson "had a Jane-Birkin-in-the-seventies image in mind," when designing the eco-friendly line.
Emma Watson recently inked a deal with Alberta Ferretti to desain a collection for the fashion house, Pure Threads oleh Emma Watson.
The five-piece line will feature eco-friendly pieces crafted from such green materials as cotton muslin and hemp, as reported oleh InStyle.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to People Tree, an organization that aims to create organic, fair trade clothing, while improving the lives of the artisans and farmers who produce the pieces.
