I don't get why everyone says she's so spoiled. In the third movie we learned that she pretty much had no love or music in her life for a decade. That sound spoiled to you?

Aurora was everyone's precious joy. The fairies loved her, so of course they spoiled her as much as they could while pretending to be poor. Plus, we didn't see her do that many chores in any movie. Ariel had to clean the barnacles off a whole rock formation in the third movie (yes, I've been counting some sequels for this. Sue me.)

I think Ariel's spoiled, but not as spoiled as Aurora or Jasmine. If you think about it, the only thing Triton does that spoils Ariel is let her be human.

Okay... well, I don't know for sure, but I doubt the fairies would pamper her excessively. Maybe Fauna would, but Aurora seems to be assigned chores frequently. After all, she picked berries and wiped the windows in her short time, and doesn't seem to want things like the other two do. I don't think that Flora and Merryweather are at all likely to spoil her much. Plus, I looked up this quote of a definition of spoiled children.

"A spoiled child has the 'I want, I want, I want' syndrome... philosophy of life would sort of be 'Life is not good unless I'm getting my own way.'"

Definitely sounds least like Aurora of the three who are left.

@allegrogiocoso: Jasmine, Ariel, and Aurora want something. Ariel wants to be human, Jasmine wants freedom, and Aurora wants to find true love. I don't think that's a good definition to be used here.

I agree with firegirl1515! Aurora has every freedom she wants, besides talking to strangers. Just because she doesn't live in a big fancy castle doesn't mean that she's not spoiled. She has every luxury, she has people that let her do whatever she wants, she has whatever freedom she wants and she's treated nicely by her aunts.


Ariel is very unhappy and from age 5 up until she was 15 she was ordered around and treated very strictly by Triton. She was punished severely for SINGING and didn't have any freedom whatsoever. Even after 15, Triton was still very harsh and strict on her.


I don't find Jasmine that spoiled either! She's not even allowed outside the palace? What kind of life is that? She's not allowed the luxury of choosing her own man. I think that's ridiculous.

On that note, neither is Aurora, but the man she wants and the man they set up for her are the same, so it's not that bad.

I don't see what makes them spoiled I don't think any of the disney princesses are spoiled

I picked Aroura cause she isn't DETERMEND to get somthing or to be somthing.Ariel wants to go to the surface.Jasmine wants to be free.Aroura ehhh not so much.PEACE!!

I took into consideration their everyday life; Jasmine lives in a Palace where she has servants and valets, Ariel also grew up in a Palace and most likely had the same things as well...Aurora grew up in a cottage and probably wasn't as "pampered" as the other two...but to be honest, I don't think ANY of them are spolied, like a bratty little child.

She's not spoilt in the slightest. She probably had to do all the work for those useless "aunts". They can't sew, they can't cook... After 16 years, they still can't do ANYTHING without their wands! Evidently, they've been relying on Aurora to care for them.
