Okay it's sad to know that your parents never support your passion. But still, it's just a bunch of stuffs. She can found another stuffs on the sunken ships. It's really not a big deal comparing with Mulan's.

As I said before Ariel could have replaced the items easily and hide them in another place. Maybe not Eric´s statue but since she knew where he lived, she could have gone to see him. Besides, for how long she had that statue? Hours? I´m not saying it´s not sad but between having things destroyed or feeling that you´re nothing, it´s more sad to feel that way.

Still the same reason. Ariel's moment is sad, but the emotion with Mulan run deeper. "I am a failure" just hits me more than "My father doesn't get me".

They are both sad but I'd rather feel like a failure temporarily than lose all my treasures.
