I don´t think so. She did it because she was desperate to be with Eric. She wanted to be human, but Eric and her father destroying everything in her grotto was the last straw.

She wasn't happy as a mermaid, and her father was too close-minded to even listen to her, so I think eventually she would have had no other choice.

Maybe, but I don't think so. Ursula even used Eric as a form of manipulation ('You'll have your man...') and if she hadn't met Eric, she'd be alone because she wouldn't know where to go. I just don't think she's as stupid as that.

Probably not. She didn't have the guts to go to Ursula before she met Eric, even though she really wanted to be human. Eric was her main motivation to accept Ursula's deal.

I don't think she would do it without knowing any humans. Even though she didn't really "know" Eric, she could at least tell that he wasn't the type to hurt her.

I think so. If she never met Eric, she would still be upset about her grotto being destroyed and still rebel anyways.

I'm not which to vote. I was thinking yes, but then other people mentioned that although Ariel wanted to be human, Eric and her father destroying her grotto really made her so emotionally hurt to the point where she'd do anything to become a human-even if it meant going to Ursula. Besides, she was thinking of meeting Eric on the shore before her dad destroyed her grotto.
