I've always thought so. I've looked it up, and it's a girl and boy name, so that proved nothing. But people pair her with Shere Khan, and when dweeb described her as "Shere Khan's Ex" for the Best Word To Describe contest, so it just affirmed my belief that Rajah is female.

You know who's gender I also want confirmed? Djali the goat from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Esmeralda refers to him as a "he" in the first movie. But at the end of the second movie, he batted his eyelashes at Hugo, which makes him look like a girl. Otherwise, there's Disney's first gay couple. Only that it's between a statue and a goat. *shrugs*

And about Rajah being Jasmine's only friend, that doesn't necessarily prove that he's a girl either. When Rapunzel was in her tower, the only friend she had was Pascal. And I believe Pascal was a boy too.

I still think Rajah's a girl . . . probably because when I was younger I didn't know how it was spelled and just assumed that if it made an "a" sound at the end it was a girl's name.

Well I never thought of it, because they translated it to Russian, as Rajah is a boy. I don't know why they decided so, but I read an article about Russian dubbing, and they said when Russia translates the Disney movies, if they're not sure about meaning, or if some problem arises, they have to ask the original writers, so I'm almost sure they asked, which gender Rajah was supposed to be.

I know that lots of girl names end with an A (I always wished my name ended with an A). But there are several boy names that end with a A in other parts of the world.

Check 4:05. The Sultan is behind Rajah and looking left. Therefore isn't looking at Rajah, because she wouldn't be in his line of vision. He's looking at Jasmine.

At first, Sultan looked to the left at Jasmine, but then he looked down at Rajah and complained about Jasmine. When he says "Allah forbid you should have any daughters", he IS looking right at Rajah.
