They just took away everything about her that made her unique. To me she just bares no similarities to the original character.

What PL said and that they intentionally changed the whole believing in your dreams thing and implied Cinderella was passive in the first movie as modern fans always say. They wouldn't try that with a different DP I'm sure- make Jasmine learn to be less fiery, Pocahontas to be more worldly and care about using the earth for profit, etc. (Except Ariel I guess, she was pretty OOC in hers.)

Yeah it's weird that the movie beefed Cinderella up to be some grand hero like she is in this, Cinderella would have never taken the dramatic turns she takes in the sequel. To me it really crosses the line when she talks back to her stepmother with force. The original Cinderella was NEVER forceful

Mulan is very ooc in sequel. Cinderella too but in a good way. Never understand why peoples don't like the proactive version of her much.

Regardless of how different from the first movies the others might be at least they are actually somewhat entertaining.

Agree with MissCinico. Mulan 2 is full of OOC moments but has some likaeble aspects. Pocahontas 2 doesn't have them at all.

This was so distinctly out of character for Ariel. Ariel was no longer herself. If you wanted to make me LOATHE a sequel, this was a sure-fire way to do it!!!!!

Because of how the sequel had her let all of China be DOOMED because there's no alliance all because of "FOLLOW YOUR HEART" and she didn't want her new gal pals to have to marry someone they didn't love, despite that all of China would be F*CKED if they didn't.

I just want to forget about the existence of this sequel. I hate it so much. They just took and threw out the meaning of all the events of the first film: (
