Their tale is more modern and it's easier to relate to, and you can see both sides. Anna will doing anything for Elsa, and Elsa shuts her out bc she think she's protecting her. With Merida and Elinor it's like wow, Merida you're really gonna give Elinor cake not knowing what could happen to her, and Elinor you are really going to force your daughter to marry someone she doesn't want to?

I only liked Elinor and Merida's relationship at the very end of the movie.

No offense meant, but I think Elinor and Merida's relationship is a little more... fleshed out.

Elsa and Anna were kept apart growing up, so of course absence makes the heart grow fonder. They have only the positive aspects of a relationship since they only have rose-colored memories of playing together as children, with none of the frustrations or fighting that comes with living with family long-term. If they had spent more time together, I think they would fight and bicker as much as any pair of sisters or daughters/mothers.

Elinor and Merida, while filled with arguments and disagreements, are at least more fleshed-out, overcome more interpersonal challenges, and are more thoroughly explored than Elsa and Anna.
