There is no other option. There has never been an animal character that was planed to be a Disney princess, while Giselle was planned to be one.

If they did change this rule for this...could we get Thor and Loki into the Prince lineup? Please?
Anyway, yea...I don't think any little girl really wants to be like an animal (Note: I know of that girl who had her parents and some doctors turn her into a bunny) but the only think holding none animated Princesses (And Princes!) out is the fact they have to pay more for their images. But I would love Giselle as a Princess.

At least if they were animated for some of the movie you can put them in animated form for merchandise, but it would be really stupid to have some of the lineup human and some not. When you see the merchandise it would be really odd.

^That. Us fans wouldn't be able to compare hair or clothes...

I would love to be an animal and tiana in princess and the frog she was a frog for most of the movie.
