If disney Princesses had realistic waistlines 

Huh. I think some look a little odd, but most of them look good.
I personally think Pocahontas has a realistic body.
They ARE animated, though, and they aren't exactly supposed to look realistic.

If they're going to get touchy about "realistic waistlines," they might as well go the extra mile and give them realistic hair volume, eye sizes, nose sizes, mouth-to-face ratio, distribution of body fat, etc.

I find it rather jarring to see their entire bodies highly stylized (large heads, huge eyes, tiny mouths, stick-thin arms), except for their "realistic" waist sizes out of nowhere.

That was my first thought too since some of them look out of proportion. I don't mind stylized bodies so long as it's distributed between the sexes and we don't have every female character with the same body type. I think the point of the post is to point out how prevalent the tiny waist thing is and how damaging it can be to a girl's body image. I think of the post as more of launching point to discuss other problematic aspects of the princesses' appearances. Everyone complains (jokingly) how the DPs gave them unrealistic expectations of hair and then comes Merida with her wild mane and suddenly people love her because she has crazy, unmanageable hair like they do.

I agree with Tygers_Eye and MalloMar and btw, Pocahontas has a pretty realistic body imo, the second photoshopped picture of her doesn't differ a lot from the original.

I agree with Mallo. They're animated characters, not supposed to look realistic according to human proportions. Disney characters/objects are noticeably more flexive than humans.

I have to say, though: Jasmine and Ariel's bodies look a lot better in the altered pictures! Jasmine's body is creepy in the non-manipulated picture, because it looks like it's twisting, like a snake.

Edit: I forgot to say that Aurora looks awful, seeing as her "corrected" waistline doesn't matches her angular drawing style. If it were less rounded...

Some of these...look really bizarre. Like Aurora's waistline really clashes with the overall angular style of the movie, and Jasmine is making a weird pose there.
