Congress Passes Restrictions on Military Funeral Protests 

According to the bill, "demonstrators will no longer be allowed to picket military funerals two hours before or after a service. The bill also requires protestors to be at least 300 feet away from grieving family members."

Protesting falls under the right of free speech. By limiting the amount of protesting, is the bill taking away protesters' right to free speech?

Or, are they protecting the rights of the grieving families? Do the protests the WBC do fall under 'hate crimes/speech'? Does protesting a funeral fall under the same category as "standing on someone's porch calling them obscene names" (from the comments) because funerals are private venues?

Freedom of speech? Those sick religious bastards look right at a man who died for their sake and call him a hethren! Say what you want, but that is just sick.

I'm for freedom of speech and all, but what these assholes do is bullshit. Those military families, which many of them are Christian, just lost a loved one, and these bastards have the balls to say that the dead soldiers died because of Americans' changing beliefs and God is happy that they're dead, what a load of crap! It's not the military's fault that you're just a bunch of bigoted loonies! It's about time the Congress did at least something about their hateful, nasty protests!

FINALLY!!!!! (Sorry for the caps lock!) But why did it take Congress so long to do anything about WBC's crap? I agree with HeitsiTsegin and PlayingWithFire on this one, it's good that we have Freedom of Speech, but even that should have its limits. For example, people can't shout "Fire!" in a theatre because it could cause people to panic and possibly trample each other. These sick lunatics shouldn't be able to say whatever hateful, extremist thing they want (no matter how offensive and stupid it is) and get away with it!
