'The Shoop Shoop Song' has been playing in my head all hari ever since I saw the ciuman in 3x19, so I thought I would adapt it slightly for DE. It's an old song that I'm not sure many DE shippers will know: link In the song, Cher sings that instead of going oleh how a guy acts atau looks, both of which can be unreliable, the only way anda can truly know if he loves anda is oleh his kiss: "If it's love, if it really is, it's there in his kiss." I think this is definitely true for Delena in 3x19.

Elena tells Stefan in the pilot that she breaks up with Matt because it wasn't "passionate". Now, if there are any Stelena/multi-shippers membaca this, I hope you'll forgive me for saying it but...Stelena weren't exactly super-charged with passion and excitement either.
Shortly after 3x14/15 aired, I remember coming across a komentar on a TVD forum from someone who berkata they couldn't imagine Elena being at all passionate with Damon after the Damon/Rebekah sex scene. My response? "That's because she's with the wrong guy." I don't think Stelena have had a ciuman to rival atau equal the one DE had in 3x19. I think the only thing that comes close to it is the Damon/Katherine ciuman in 2x01, but I wasn't emotionally engaged in it at all, so it didn't mean anything to me. Delena were absolutely phenomenal in this episode, and their ciuman was so raw, passionate and scorching, that it jumped off the screen and practically hit anda in the face and knocked anda out.

Were there some parallels to 3x10 in 3x19? In 3x10 "We're holding on...and letting go" (perhaps a reference to "It's right, it's just not right now"), and Damon walks away from Elena, then changes his mind, goes back and kisses her. In 3x19, the song playing during the first part of the ciuman is "Never Let Me Go" oleh Florence And The Machine, and Elena runs out of the room. Damon follows her but hangs back, then she runs back to Damon and kisses him. Before this moment, Elena is clearly struggling with her feelings for Damon. In the motel room from the intense way she's staring at him and when he's lying selanjutnya to her on the bed, she's really trying to rein her feelings in. When their hands touch, that in itself is too much for her, and she gets up and leaves the room. But she can't hide atau fight what's in her jantung anymore, and she kisses him. She's not over-thinking it, atau wondering what Alaric atau Stefan atau her friends will say; she's going with what's in her heart. And the resulting ciuman is one of uncontrollable, unparalleled passion made even lebih breathtaking due to how long they've waited and how long Elena has denied herself this. When they pause for a detik and look at each other, and then start ciuman again, that's when anda know they both choose and want this. Elena's not ciuman Damon back because she's confused atau is trying to figure out how she feels - like I berkata before in another of my pieces, she KNOWS how she feels about Damon. She wants him, without a doubt. If Jeremy hadn't found them at that moment, who knows what would have happened next.

I don't think Elena has been kissed oleh anyone quite like that. Not oleh Stefan. Certainly not oleh Matt. And just for the record, I don't think Elena has kissed anyone like she's kissed Damon. But when Jeremy interrupts them, Elena comes back down to earth with a bump, and here's when it gets complicated. Elena has apparently gone on this road trip on her own personal quest - to figure out if she has unresolved feelings for Damon. But when he asks her outright "Do you?" she jawaban "I don't know." Can I say here and now that I don't believe that Elena's feelings are the issue here. The real issue is: when she finally tells the truth and says yes, and wants to explore the idea of having a relationship with Damon, then what does that mean for her diberikan how much she knows about him? She seen him at his best and at his worst, and that means she can't go into any relationship with him without knowing exactly what he's capable of, that he "sabotages things" and "lashes out" whenever there's a "bump in the road." That to me, is the real reason why she's so apprehensive and unsure. It's not that she doesn't know how she feels, because she absolutely does, it was in the way she kissed him, and her kisses don't lie - it's that she's unsure about HIM that's proving to be the real stumbling block. Pair her doubts with the judging panel of her closest friends and relatives she knows will disapprove: Alaric, Jeremy, Caroline, possibly Bonnie - and it's little wonder that she can't acknowledge the truth yet. Asking Stefan to the decade dance in 3x20 (at Caroline's suggestion), looks lebih and lebih like a last-ditch attempt on Elena's part to see if she can salvage her relationship with Stefan and thus spare her the decision she knows she has to make. Personally, I am not worried about Stelena in the selanjutnya episode. Stefan knows Elena is in cinta with Damon, Elena sure knows she's in cinta with Damon, even if she can't own up to it, and I would be beyond amazed if SE got back together in these circumstances. I know some fan are scared about what will happen in the finale, but I firmly believe that in order for the season and segi tiga, segitiga to be complete, Elena has to at least say she loves Damon, even if she chooses to be alone. If anda think about it, the bulk of 3 seasons has been about Elena choosing Stefan over Damon, even when they weren't together, as evidenced in 3x14. We already know she loves him, so it would be an anti-climax for the season to end with her choosing him yet again.

Stefan and Stelena are appealing in that 'first love' kind of way, but if anda look at this season objectively, anda can see that Elena's journey has been leading to Damon, even as she's fought to remain constant to Stefan. It's inevitable that she will always cinta him, and that SE will always be a feature of the show, but it's Damon, not Stefan, who will have the biggest, life-enhancing impact on her. Stefan may always be 'good' for Elena, but it's Damon who will change her life forever.
