No elena already made her choice to be with damon. She loves Stefan very much but she is head over heels for damon. Stefan understands and knows that they are miserable without each other. Stefan is going to realize that he is falling in cinta Caroline.

Elena fell out of cinta with Stefan somewhere in the 2nd half of season 3. Season 5 made it crystal clear that her feelings for Stefan are strictly platonic (and vise versa). There is no way she will fall in cinta with him again in the show's timeline, let alone act on her feelings.
