Should Coraline have been rated as lowly as it was?

Heya all coraline fan (this is my first answer so im not sure how everything is done sorry if this is the wrong sorta way of posting a pertanyaan thingy) anyways i saw coraline for my friends birthday as we all thought it looked amazing and i LOVED the film dont get me wrong i was just thinking that maybe the plot was a little too sinister for the rating it got (i dont know about america but in the UK it was a pg meaning parental guidance)i was extremly scared at points with the other mother in particular but maybe this is just me being a wuss lol i would cinta to hear everyone's elses tampilan on it. I dont think it was to sinister. Cuz cinderella was sinister too. I was jumping out off my kursi i was so excited

I'm 18 and I was scared when I watched it. It's PG in Australia though which I think is ok because no kids would see it if it was M. I do think kids will be scared but it's not the first time they've had scary kids film (Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride etc) and a lot of them like it. It's a thrill and it's all so magical! It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland actually.

I LOVED the film. But I must admit, I did get pretty scared. Not during the film, but when I got back home. It was rated PG in America. After the movie, I read the book and that creeped me out a little more. But now that I watched the movie again, it didn't seem that scary.

I n=dont really think it should be m, because its not THAT scary, but a lot of parents think that it would be suitable for their little kids. When I went and saw it, it was just me and my friends and then a whole lot of famalies with little kids.
oleh the end of the movie, we were practically the only ones left in the cinima.
It is a bit silly to assume that just becasue it is animated, it is suitable for kids but a lot of people do.
