Hello everyone,
I have been meaning to post something for the past few weeks regarding 'Storm', but am just now getting around to it. First off, let me just preface this oleh saying that I am totally delight that Deirdre Shannon has joined the team! I don't know how many of anda are familiar with the lovely Deirdre, but she is a very accomplished musician within her own right. Deirdre is a classically trained crossover artist who comes with a daftar of credits that anda may find amazing. Her prior background includes bernyanyi with such groups as Anuna, Celtic Woman, The Celtic Tenors and the Canadian Tenors, Dionne Warwick, Air Supply, The Celtic Divas, Frank McNamera, and lebih recently she traveled with Lord of the Dance portraying Erin the Goddess. Currently she is working with the musical sensation Ragus and is getting ready to tour to Japan. Her highly acclaimed self titled CD, 'Deirdre Shannon' earned two prestigious awards. and she has graced some of the most well known konser halls in the world. Having worked with Sharon Browne before in Celtic Woman, it made complete sense that she was asked to gabung Celtic Thunder as she indeed is a very good fit. lebih so, I hope that Celtic Thunder fan will continue welcome her with open arms as she is one of the sweetest most genuine people one could ever hope to meet. I just cinta her!
I knew of Celtic Thunder, but did not have much opportunity to really listen to the group until recently when my husband and I attended the PBS taping in Toronto for Storm. I have to say we were completely blown away! We saw them again last week here in Erie and they were amazing! Lets just suffice to say that now I totally "get" the Thunderheads!
Being a new convert to the Celtic Thunder makes it even a sweeter deal for my husband and I, because now we have Ireland's best soloist (Deirdre) performing on the same stage as the amazing Celtic Thunder - I can't think of a better combination! I think that once the new DVD/PBS special comes out, anda will all come to know Deirdre in a special way as there is no one like her anywhere.
I did also want to take the opportunity to invite some of the Celtic Thunder fan to get to know Deirdre. We have a website and a forum that we run for her. This Saturday we will be hosting a 'Live Chat' with Deirdre at 4:00 p.m. EST. Information can be found oleh visiting her 'website/forum' under the 'announcements' section. We would cinta to get to know some of the "Thunderheads" out there and are looking meneruskan, ke depan to becoming a part of the fan base. oleh the way, Deirdre can also be found on MySpace and Facebook.
If anda have not received her newsletter, yesterday a new one was sent out to her fan base... she diposting the following to her fan as well as to the fan of Celtic Thunder:
Greetings! After holding off from announcing anything before the DVD recording of Celtic Storm in Toronto, I can finally reveal all! What an exciting few weeks it has been. From movie sets to one of the most giant live stages I have ever seen – it has been a blast!
My heartfelt thanks goes out to Sharon Browne, the producer, and Phil Coulter, the musical director and composer of Storm. They made this all possible and I feel very privileged to have been a part of such a high quality production. I was not brand new to either Sharon atau Phil. I worked with Sharon in Celtic Woman and met with Phil a few times on the Irish musik scene, but it was a real thrill to work on this for them. The cast and crew of course are detik to none and it was with great joy as I watched and listened to each of them perform. Their talent and experience astounded me and I only hope that we will all work again together soon. The intensity of an experience such as this is like nothing else and I found and I have made many close friends on the production. Thank You!
To all the terrific Thunderheads out there, I really hope that anda enjoy the new show. I hope also that I add something a little different for your entertainment, however, no need to worry; the boys are still all yours!! To my own Deirdre Shannon fans, thank anda for all your tireless support over the years. I am sorry that I could not reveal any news sooner but I suppose anda are OK with this surprise. There will be a very fine product released soon and finally anda can see me on DVD! It's been a while coming! So roll on the Thunder!!
Love,Deirdre xxx
