well, I like both, I read anybook that is good and well written.

while i have a deep fondness for novels that have survived 100s of years, i tend to read more contemporary.

I have read quite a few classics (Shakespeare is my hero!!) but I generally go for the contemporary fantasy....

Classic of course, but I must say there are contemporary authors who are not so bad

When I was more younger (9 - 12 years old) I liked contemporary literature like Harry Potter. Now I discovered (thanks to my new obsession: history ) classic literature and I like it very very very much.

both. can't actually pick because there are both great and weak classic and contemporary books and authors. i respect the "classics" because they created the foundation, the basis but i also have to admit that i find (good!) contemporary literature more attractive because it is less prejudiced, less limited and -obviously- i can relate to it easier. the books of today have evolved from the classic ones. you can't have one without another and -in my case- i can't like one without seeing the other hidden behind it (be it in past or in future).

Contemporary Classic. :)
