Hehe, yeah, Hyorinmaru is probably my second favorite Zanpakuto, along with Senbonzakura, Pantera, Murcielago, Shinso and Benihime. XD

Senbonzakura, for sure. Not to be "that guy" but technically the arrancar blades are not zanpakuto, hence I didn't choose my favorite of the releases from above (Murcielago, green rain, awesome).

I had though the arrancars were wielding real zanpakutou, since they were half-baked shinigami hybrids. Their function is similar enough.
That aside, I think its unfair for Isane since the most we know about her zanpakutou is its shape, name, and release command.

I'm not so sure I agree with you there, Whiteflame. They may be different than Shinigami Zanpakuto, but the series still labelled them as 'Zanpakuto' and they have many elements to them that Shinigami Zanpakuto did.

Actually, in many ways, the function is dramatically different. Arrancar store their actual forms and much of their energies inside of a weapon. Shinigami gain access to zanpakuto, which are sources of whole other living beings and a completely separate energy sink from which they draw much of their power and with which they can sync up. It was really the shinigamis' perspective that the method by which arrancar seal away their energy bears similarities to a soul reaper's, but several of the arrancar clarified the differences.


Addendum: my bad. Just looked it up, they're labeled as you say. Still, what I've said regarding the differences between an arrancar's blade and a shinigami's do matter, just not in terms of labels.

I understand what you are saying, I just happen to think that Arrancar Zanpakuto and Shinigami Zanpakuto are similar in a few ways, even if they are different in other ways. Both represent the shape and form of that person's soul in their previous life, even if the two access those powers differently.

Heh, excellent. I just wanted to have a question where we weren't restricted to only Shinigami Zanpakuto, because everyone seems to choose Hyorinmaru or Zangetsu... Thought I'd give a few more choices on this one.

The entire concept of the Arrancar was that the Hogyoku used to create them blurred the border between Hallow and shinigami, giving them soul reaping powers along with their Hallow powers. I see what you mean by a different fundamental function, but I think that by concept they are viable as zanpakutou.

Nope, because this is stuff that fans have been deciding to add themselves, there is no mention of this in the anime, so therefore it isn't a part of the anime. Besides, I don't care if that question is asked once and that's it, I am saying that it shouldn't posted ten times... But, the sad thing is that the same variant of the question: 'Who should end up with Ichigo?' has been asked in this club about ten times - now that is simply spam. Why does it need to be asked that much, huh? Besides, there are clubs for Ichihime and Ichiruki, so go post them on there, instead of plaguing this club with the same question over and over again. Simple.

By the way, I didn't ask which was your favorite, I asked which one of these do you think is cooler.

@Lidiaisabel, not really... Cool and favorite are two different things. Something can be cool and your favorite, but if it isn't your favorite, it can still be cool. Anyway, my major point is that I'm hardly going to waltz around making I have everybody's favorite Zanpakuto in my polls. If it ain't there, then choose another one you like. Simple.
