Battlestar Galactica The importance of hair

Just a quick comment of admiration for the character work that the writers and actors have put into this series. I especially like the little bits they've done in Season 3 with characters and their hair. Admiral Adama grew out his mustache during the "New Caprica" interlude, and when he finally reunited humanity and resumed the journey to Earth, we don't see him celebrate...all he does is methodically - almost ritualistically - clip and then shave off that lip furr, as if he swore to himself that he wouldn't shave until all people everywhere were back in the fleet.

It's amusing to me to see how both Apollo and Starbuck also let their hair grow out during that period, and then put those times behind them by cutting it (we see it with Starbuck - with Apollo it's just part of his restoring his physique, which happens offscreen) back to how it was at the start of the series. Nice bits, and they don't need any exposition to explain what's happening with the characters.
