And the movie's title is barbie IN the pearl princess! Not AND the pearl princess or AS the pearl princess which has to mean that this is already a story.....What do you think?

But there are so many other stories related to this! If you search the pearl princess on google you will find a dozen stories! Which one will mattel turn into a movie? But I noticed that many of the stories i read had one thing in common! The stories are about a sea princess....but they are not mermaid stories..so maybe mattel will make a magical underwater princess movie in spring 2014! What do you think?

It might be inspired by this but I'm not sure. I hope it won't because for soe reason it reminds if the Pink Shoes story. Maybe because both this girl and Kristyn discovered a magic world and transformed.

Could be possible. But then again, it could be an entirely original story with a similar title. And I don't get your "in" and "as" logic, Rapunzel and Princess and Pauper had "as" in the names and they're both inspired by existing stories (Rapunzel and Prince & Pauper respectively)

I know that melodyLaurel! These two movies can be "in" or "as". Pearl princess can be "as" but if it's "as" we don't know if it's mattel's story or not! But it's "in" so it has to be a original story... Get me? I know it's confusing!

But Barbie "in" the Nutcracker isn't an original story.

Neither is Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses. I don't think the title has anything to do with the story being original or not.

Mattel has trademarked "When Fashion Meets Fairytale"... but the character in this is named Princess Pearl, she's not a pearl princess.

It does look like a cute book though.
