wow! really people! even if your not a Spuffy fan you gotta admit that getting a soul without a soul knowing that you will have to suffer forever knowing the horrible things that you've done in the past without a soul and first of all he didn't even know if he would survive the trials or not! seriously you have to admit that getting a soul for someone means way more than taking a little trip from LA to Sunnydale and apologizing for something you said! that's just pathetic!

Buffy actually said to Angel that it meant A LOT that he came. And actions do speak louder than words "fanfly", which is why Angel asked if he could DO anything to help her, but Buffy said that him leaving would be the best thing. He obliged because he knew if he stuck around it would cause problems in her relationship with Riley, and he wanted her to be happy. Apologies are never pathetic as long as they are meant, and they are always better than no apology at all.

He got a freaking soul for her! Angel's soul is something he never wanted because it is torture.Spike went to that crazy demon thing and was tortured and burned just so he could be tortured forever,for her.And the scene in Seeing Red doesn't count.It started with 'I'm sorry' and ended up in rape,there's no way anybody is going to pick that.

Who cares about getting a soul for her? Angel became the champion that he is because of Buffy. He may not have asked for a soul, but so what? He chose to do the right thing and keep it. Any day he could have gotten rid of it by losing his soul in Buffy, but he didn't. Besides Angel's mistep was nowhere near as severe as Spike's; he would never violate Buffy. In fact, Angel apologized right after he reflexively punched her. Angel's apology was better because it allowed Buffy to keep moving forward with her life. She needed their love to be reaffirmed on his part, and he provided her with that comfort, that temporary closure.

how many times do I have to say it Spike did NOT have a soul when he attempted to rape Buffy, if Angel didn't have a soul he would've actually fully raped Buffy or kill all her friends and family and then kill her that's what Angelus would've done, Spike loved Buffy without a soul so therefor that beats Angel in every way possible... Spike WITHOUT a soul went to get one for Buffy, Angelus couldn't even love without a soul he was evil cruel and had no love and was unable to love he's pathetic, we all already know Spike is stronger then him physically now after me saying that we know he's also stronger than Angel mentally because he could love Buffy no matter what no matter if he had a soul or if he didn't that proves how much better Spike's love for Buffy is then Angel's love for her!!!!!!

Um Angelus was laying in Buffy's bed and did not rape her; he barely even touched her. Spike was the one spurring him on to hurt Buffy right away. Remember that? Spike didn't have a soul then either. Next, Spike is not stronger than Angel physically, and anyway what is this an old-fashioned mano y mano fight? Buffy is not a prize to be won; in fact, we all know she is stronger than both of them, so toughness is irrelevant. Unfortunately, the writers are very inconsistent with the emotional capacity of vampires, and they tweaked the prototype in Spike's case to suit their purposes. I personally think it's stupid. Angel loves Buffy and that's all that matters because Angelus is not the one who would be in a relationship with her anyway.

ok if Angel loves Buffy so much then why did he almost kill her twice WITH a soul in both the episodes Angel and the episode Graduation Day Part 2 ? Spike WITHOUT a soul almost died for just Buffy's sister because he knew it would've destroyed her in the episode Intervention and he could have easily told Glory Dawn was the key because he had NO soul!

Angel was never going to kill Buffy in Angel. Actually, Buffy flat out offered herself to him, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. In Graduation Day Part 2 he did drink her, but he restrained himself from killing her.

Ok, honestly, I don't view Spike getting a soul as an appology. His journey and him being different from other vampires was set up from the start and getting his soul back was just a part of his uniqueness and a part of his journey to become a champion. Yes, what almost happened between him and Buffy was a turning point, but he had already changed so much before, that's why he felt guilt over it and chose to fight for his soul when no other vampire did.

As for Angelus he hurt Buffy physically, emotionally, attempted to kill her friends and family, succeeded in killing the love of her watcher's life, caused her more pain than soulles Spike could ever come close to. But I don't hold it against Angel because he was soulles.

He got a soul for her. He wanted to be the kind of man she deserved.
