Ok, I have an idea of what I think on this topic, but i would like to get dome feedback on others out there who cinta A7X just as much as I do.
Throughout their carrer as a band, Avenged Sevenfold has changed their style as each album goes oleh and yet they still manage to stay true to the meaning of their band. Many, as it seems to me, have a hard time trying to figure that meaning out though it seems. Let's help out those people.
Sounding the Seventh Trumpet kicked off with To "The End of Rapture", a fast kickass in your face song, followed oleh many other hardcore punk driven fast gitar playing songs. At this point in their career, having Warmness of th Soul and The Seventh trumpet under their belt, they lebih often than not were probably referred to as a punk band, which did at the time make sence.
With their video debut with "Unholy Confessions", a lebih melodic side was shown in their music, still mainly screaming and fast gitar based, but with a few touches of harmonies such as in the songs "I Won't See anda Tonight" atau And "All Things Will End" and even in "Unholy Confessions" itself. with this, a lebih alternative side was shown.
Following City of Evil, a hint of heavy metal influences were shown and added to the genre label diberikan to A7X, with songs like "Beast and the Harlot", "Bat Country", and even "Sidewinder" which has some interesting mixes of gitar in it are some of the songs to back up this new and evident influencing genre. Even the song "Betrayed", a tribute to the late and great Dimebag Darrell, shows this. oleh this time, the punk side of A7X had slowly made way for a new style of lebih bernyanyi with the screaming reduced to the background. Heavy metal/rock was the way to put it when describing this album.
With their self titled album came lebih influences. As M.Shadows had stated, many of their influences for this album came from country, evident in "Dear God" and "Gunslinger", and a sort of hip hop groove oriented sound, giving a basis for how the song "Scream" sounds. But this album not only introduced new genre possiblities for A7X, but it introduced The Rev as a singer on it. Providing vocals for the chorus of "Critical Acclaim" and "A Little Piece of Heaven" as well as providing backing vocals for "Scream" and "Aferlife", The Rev gave us a little bit of the old A7X with his screaming and his melodies. Their fourth album gave a summed up collection of all of A7X's influences and great music.
Diamonds in th Rough, being a CD of unreleased songs and covers can't really be considered an album, but it can still be considered a great work of music. While it is a great departure from Waking the Fallen atau even City of Evil atau any of their past work, this CD gives a side of A7X that shows lebih focus on the musik instead of focus on the speed atau how hard the punch. songs like "Dancing Dead" atau "The Fight" tampil a laid back side to their sound, while songs like "Demons" atau their cover for the Pantera song "Walk" shows the heavier side to their sound.
Whether they are punk with their fast sounds and screaming, atau they are heavy metal, atau if they are alternative, i believe they are simply...AVENGED SEVENFOLD.
