Like all great shows, malaikat was inevitably link. Even though Joss and the writers wanted a sixth season (they definitely had the ideas for it, as Angel: After the Fall clearly illustrates-- no pun intended) the networks just didn't see it in the cards. Though malaikat proved that it could definitely stand on its own two feet after Buffy ended, this decision was made before the detik half of malaikat Season Five actually aired. My guess is, the WB didn't believe that malaikat would work as well without Buffy (oh ye of little faith!) and told Joss at the beginning so he could membungkus, bungkus up the series and make the final season a smash success. At least that was thoughtful of them to do that, so the malaikat cast and crew could "make arrangements" so to speak for the end of the show. And it allowed Joss to try some crazy ideas (like fred to Illyria) so it wasn't all THAT bad.

anda need to cite your sources, unless anda are currently sitting selanjutnya to Mr Whedon and Co.

Why would anda think it had ANYTHING to do with BtVs, a tampil not even on the same network?? malaikat was a completely autonomous show, no mention of Buffy at all after the brief talk of her death and the not-so deadness. It is not useful to guess and call it fact. malaikat was a WB tampil and the last 2 seasons of Buffy aired on the UPN.

Head writer David Fury "guarantees" that if Joss Whedon hadn't requested an early renewal, malaikat would've been back for a Season 6:

The only reason that malaikat didn't come back...it's a very simple thing. Because our ratings were up, because of our critical attention, Joss specifically asked Jordan Levin, who was the head of The WB at the time, to give us an early pick-up because every tahun they [would] wait so long to give malaikat a pick-up [and] a lot of us [would] turn down jobs hoping that malaikat will continue– he [Joss] didn't want that to happen. So, he was feeling very confident and he [Joss] just asked Jordan, "Like, make your decision now whether you're going to pick us up atau not," and Jordan, sort of with his hands tied, with his back up against the wall, called him the selanjutnya hari and said, "Okay, we're canceling you." Jordan's no longer there and The WB has since recognized...I believe Garth Ancier at The WB berkata that it was a big mistake to batal Angel. There was a power play that happened that just didn't fall out the way they wanted it to. We wanted to get an early pick-up, we didn't. In fact we forced them [the WB] to make a decision, and with his hand forced he [Levin] made the decision to batal us. I guarantee that, if we waited as we normally did, oleh the time May had come around they would have picked up Angel. I can guarantee that

though i found this on wiki so it might not be the most reliable sumber :(

Fury was not head writer at AttS ever. He wrote some eps in the first 3 seasons, and just look at the credits, became (he was working on BtVS at the same time) consulting, then co-exec and finally full executive producer on Angel.

Actually the story continues in comic books, it's called "Angel After the Fall" published oleh IDW and the website that I get mine subscription from is www.tfaw.com, I have all of them....right from the start. I just got issue #22. And they even did "Smiletime" as a 3-issue special. Plus they published "Spike After the Fall". Check it out, anda will be surprised at what happens to the whole cast.

I don't consider the buku cannon. It is not the show, sort of alt-universe continuation. It was still canceled as a TV tampil & ended after 5 seasons. Good cover there, I always liked Smile Time, I know a lot of folks didn't :)

Oh for f^&* sake, "Cinders" got here first. Is there even any point?
She atau he probably went on for a week so here is the short answer: It was cancelled. They did have time to do an end show, but it was not envisioned as a 5-season show. Sometimes if anda google a pertanyaan like this atau go to imdb dot com anda can read interesting things straight from the horse - atau horses' - mouths.
