Because they sing We are Family doesnt mean that they are brothers and sisters. The Chipmunks were born somewhere around Sierra Lakes (I would berkata Lake Tahoe) and The Chipettes in a small town with population 300. somewhere else. I think the Chipmunks would remember having 3 sisters.
I feel like it's implied in the film that the Chipmunks and the Chipettes are siblings through adoption but they also lebih heavily imply a romantic relationship. Honestly, it kind of turns my stomach. They are sleeping in the same room and have the same guardian but they have crushes on each other.
