This question applies to me more than anyone probably because I went through an extremely difficult time in my life back in early 2001. It was so traumatic to me then and I nearly lost it. I saw commercials for 24 AS this event was happening and knew I had to watch because I was already a Kiefer fan. The rest is history. So not only did 24 become an escape tool for me in 2001 when I wasn't expecting it, now it's the first thing I turn to if something else happens.

I can relate with the last part. I'm so glad 24 was there for you as it is for me today as several hard things have happened these last two weeks. 24's keeping me sane. Season 2 re watch is going well right now, at the part where Jack "kills" Asad, Syed Ali's oldest son.

It literally saved my life. I wouldn't be here if I hadn't seen those commercials. It's why I'm as loyal as I am, on top of it just being a damn good show.
